So, Consensus Miami happened again. You know, that annual crypto therapy session where everyone admits they’re not as rich as they pretended to be last year. BeInCrypto was there, schmoozing with the big shots, because apparently we’re media partners now. Fancy, right?
Anyway, the vibe this year? Less Lambo dreams, more infrastructure nightmares. Stablecoins were the belle of the ball, AI was the creepy guy lurking in every corner, and the institutional crowd showed up like they owned the place. Which, let’s be honest, they kind of do now.
Stablecoins: The New Black (or Whatever Color Money Is)
If Consensus Miami 2026 had a theme song, it’d be “All About the Benjamins” but with stablecoins. The GENIUS Act and the Clarity Act were the hot gossip, but Henri Arslanian from Nine Blocks Capital Management was like, “Eh, we’re moving forward anyway. Legislation? That’s just the cherry on top of this compliance sundae we’re all choking down.”
“If the Clarity Act is passed, cherry on the sundae. Otherwise, there’s already a lot of enthusiasm, interest and investment in the space.”
But here’s the kicker: stablecoins are making KYC look like a kindergarten game. AI agents doing transactions? Market manipulation by bots? Arslanian’s like, “Yeah, good luck with that.” Operationally, it’s a dumpster fire waiting to happen.
Wall Street Crashes the Crypto Party
Remember when crypto was supposed to be the rebel? Well, the rebels are now wearing suits. JPMorgan had a booth. JPMorgan! In Miami! And there were more compliance officers than hodlers. Nirvana Lingbing Li from CoinW summed it up:
“My biggest takeaway from Consensus Miami was the growing institutional presence in crypto. Compared to events in Hong Kong or Dubai, there were noticeably more participants from traditional finance, technology, and compliance sectors, which feels like a sign that crypto is increasingly becoming part of the mainstream business conversation.”
“Another interesting shift was the growth of supporting services around the industry. At the CoinW booth alone, we spoke with lawyers, audit firms, compliance providers, and payment infrastructure companies throughout the event. Cross-border payments and fiat on/off-ramp solutions were also major topics, reflecting growing demand for more efficient and secure global capital movement.”
Crypto’s gone corporate, folks. Time to update your LinkedIn.
AI: The Double-Edged Sword of Doom
AI was everywhere. Like, literally everywhere. Jimmy Su from Binance was like, “Yeah, attackers are using AI to break CAPTCHAs, create deepfake interviews, and write resumes that look better than yours.” Meanwhile, Binance’s using AI to fingerprint users. Big Brother, meet Big Blockchain.
Tim Stanyakin from ChangeNOW dropped this gem: “2024, 2025 was all about AI. Now it’s perps and prediction markets.” So, AI’s old news. Time to move on to the next shiny thing.
Convergence: When Crypto Meets TradFi in a Bar
Everyone’s hooking up. Crypto firms are adding TradFi assets, TradFi firms are adding crypto services, and they’re all meeting in the middle like a bad Tinder date. Travis John from XDC Network called stablecoins the “connective tissue” of trade finance. Fancy words for “we’re making money move faster.”
ChangeNOW’s Stanyakin said they’re adding 50 TradFi assets. Because why not? Crypto’s not just for degenerate gamblers anymore.
