According to a report from Empire, shared on X by DiscussingFilm, Jon Bernthal will not be reprising his role as Frank Castle, The Punisher, in Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. This news is unexpected, considering his work on Season 1 and Marvel Studios’ plans to include the character in the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Okay, so I just heard some news about Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 that’s a bit of a bummer. Apparently, Jon Bernthal won’t be back as The Punisher. Honestly, his performance was a huge part of why the first Daredevil reboot was so good! But the showrunners are doubling down on Kingpin – Vincent D’Onofrio is definitely returning, and they’re going to really dig into the political side of things in New York City. Jon Bernthal is returning as the Punisher in the Marvel Cinematic Universe! He’ll appear alongside Tom Holland, Mark Ruffalo, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, and the rest of the cast in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie.
