In early 2025, DC and Marvel thrilled comic book fans by announcing they would team up for the first time in over twenty years. They initially revealed plans for two one-time comics featuring Batman and Deadpool, each from the other character’s perspective. But on November 12, 2025, the companies surprised everyone by also releasing two additional crossover comics.
As a fan, it’s always been exciting to see DC and Marvel team up! It all started way back in 1976 with a legendary comic called Superman vs The Amazing Spider-Man: The Battle of the Century. After that, they did a few more crossover events here and there throughout the rest of the 20th century, but they weren’t super frequent.
The last time DC and Marvel Comics teamed up was in 2003 with the ‘JLA/Avengers’ series. So, comic book fans were excited when the two major publishers announced another crossover for 2025. What really caught everyone off guard, though, was the reveal of two separate team-ups following the initial buzz around ‘Deadpool/Batman’ and ‘Batman/Deadpool’.
What crossover comics did DC/Marvel just release?
A new Marvel comic brings together the worlds of Thor and Shazam! In this one-time team-up, Donald Blake (Thor’s human identity) and Billy Batson (Shazam) must work together when someone attempts to steal the magical powers that fuel both their heroes. The comic, titled Thor/Shazam #1, is written by Al Ewing and features art by Jethro Morales, with a cover by Martín Cóccolo.
The comic Thor/Shazam #1 is normally available only on the Marvel Unlimited app. But right now, you can get a free digital copy by visiting https://www.marvel.com/redeem and using the code CROSSOVER25.
DC Comics is joining forces with Marvel for a new comic in their DC Go! series. “The Flash/Fantastic Four #1” teams up the Flash with Marvel’s Fantastic Four in a story written by Jeremy Adams and illustrated by Adrián Gutiérrez and Romulo Fajardo Jr. The comic features a chase as the heroes pursue Gorilla Grodd through the Speed Force.
The Flash/Fantastic Four #1 comic is only available on the DC Universe Infinite app. But, both Marvel Unlimited and DC Universe Infinite are giving their members special codes for a free 30-day trial of the other service. As a bonus, they’ve hinted that more crossover comics will be released for subscribers in the future.
