The first R-rated movie in the new DC Universe is scheduled to come out in about six months, and DC Studios will be filming in Gotham City this fall.
The first footage from the upcoming Batman villain movie, Clayface, was shown at Warner Bros. Discovery’s presentation during CinemaCon 2026. ScreenRant was present for the panel where DC Studios described the film as a suspenseful horror thriller that prioritizes character development and aims to appeal to a broad audience.
The video shows a man injured in a hospital bed, intercut with quick glimpses of his life before the injury and scenes of scientific experiments. The video ends with a hand covering the man’s face just before the logo appears.
Clayface opens on October 23.
