Death in Paradise favourite’s latest crime show gets future confirmed after season 2

The popular crime drama ‘Saint-Pierre,’ starring Jósephine Jobert, has been renewed for a third season! Production is scheduled to begin in July.

The actor, known for their role in Death in Paradise, stars in the detective series as Geneviève Archambault, nicknamed Arch. She’s a French native who now lives in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.

She’s joined by Inspector Donald Fitzpatrick, played by Allan Hawco, after he’s sent into exile on the island. Everyone calls him Fitz.

Arch and Fitz each find themselves in Saint-Pierre for different reasons, but their seemingly idyllic trip to this French territory near Canada quickly reveals a hidden criminal underworld that they must investigate.

The heartwarming drama series, created by and starring Allan Hawco, is set to premiere in 2025. Critics, including those at The Guardian, have playfully called it “the Canadian Death in Paradise”.

It’s since become a fan favourite on Canadian network CBC, and later launched on U&Alibi in the UK.

Following its success, the show was quickly renewed for a second season, which aired in April 2026.

Deadline reported today that the show has been renewed for a third season, and production will begin in July in Newfoundland and Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.

The creator of the show, Hawco, announced more episodes were on the way on social media. He posted a “Coming Soon” message with a photo of the main characters, Hawk and Fitz, and a fast-paced highlight reel from the exciting second season.

Mark Hawco and Robina Lord-Stafford, the creators of the show, expressed their gratitude for the ongoing support of CBC, Fifth Season, and fans around the world, as stated in a recent press release to Deadline.

As a big fan of the show, I’m really thrilled they’re heading back to Newfoundland and Saint-Pierre et Miquelon for Season 3. Those locations are just so central to what makes the show, well, the show – they really define its unique atmosphere and feel.

We’re excited to continue the success of the show and deliver even more of the captivating mystery, surprising turns, and compelling characters that viewers love.

Saint-Pierre marks a new chapter for Jobert, as it’s his first leading role since finishing up on the popular BBC show, Death in Paradise, where he worked from 2015 to 2022.

She’ll make a quick return to the show in 2024, with her character, DS Florence Cassell, heading back to the Caribbean island of Saint Marie to wrap up a final case.

After that, her character was forced to go into witness protection, and has not been seen again.

Saint-Pierre is available to watch on U&Alibi.
