Ben Miller shared some good news for fans of his ITV detective series, Professor T: his character, the detail-oriented Professor T, will likely be back to investigate more crimes in future episodes.
The show, which first aired in the summer of 2021, features Miller as Professor Jasper Tempest, a highly respected expert in criminology. He helps the Cambridge police solve crimes while also dealing with the challenges of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).
This project is Miller’s second leading role in a detective series, following his success as the first star of Death in Paradise. That show became a long-running favorite on BBC One, and now regularly features a new lead actor every few years.
The popular show ‘Professor T’ is set to return for a fifth season, and creator Jimmy Miller recently hinted on ‘The One Show’ that more seasons could be on the way.
The show is returning! Season 5 is expected to premiere in the fall, and we’ve even started working on season 6. It’s great to be in a position where we’re planning ahead like this.

The cast of Professor T – including Frances de la Tour, Sunetra Sarker, Juliet Stevenson, Zoë Wanamaker, Barney White, and Rhian Blundell – is set to return for the fifth season, which is expected to air in a few months.
Upcoming episodes will feature a violent boxing match and a string of mysterious deaths at a luxury spa. Throughout the season, the main characters will all be forced to make difficult decisions.
According to executive producer Jo McGrath, the fifth season of Professor T will be a significant turning point for the main character, both in his personal life and career. The season will end with a classic, suspenseful finale designed to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
Filming for the upcoming episodes finished last summer, and Miller announced it on Instagram. We’ll share more news about seasons 5 and 6 of Professor T as soon as we have it.
