Popular James Bond leading lady “sad” after Amazon acquisition – but this Bond 26 news assured her it will be “cinema”

Léa Seydoux, known for playing Madeleine Swann in the James Bond films Spectre and No Time to Die, has shared her opinions about the future of the franchise, and her response was somewhat hesitant.

In a recent interview with Variety, Léa Seydoux expressed her disappointment with Amazon MGM Studios’ new control over the direction of the film series.

The agreement, revealed last year, involves Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson, the longtime producers of the James Bond films, taking a step back from the series. This change is part of a new business arrangement designed to manage the rights to the James Bond story and characters.

While they still share ownership of the franchise with Amazon, Amazon MGM Studios now controls the creative direction.

Even though Léa Seydoux feels sad about the film, she’s comforted by the fact that Denis Villeneuve is the director.

When I learned the studio was sold, I was initially disappointed. But knowing Denis Villeneuve is taking over made me feel much better – it means the focus will still be on making great films.

You know, working with Denis Villeneuve on Dune: Part Two was incredible. What struck me most was how deeply cultured he is – it’s not just movies he understands, it’s everything. He has this amazing breadth of knowledge that really comes through in his work.

The new film will be directed by Villeneuve, based on a screenplay by Steven Knight. Amy Pascal and David Heyman are the producers.

Amazon MGM Studios has officially started looking for the next James Bond. They’ve announced the casting process is underway, but won’t be sharing details publicly just yet. The studio promises to update fans when they have more news to share.

Rumors are circulating that Tom Francis, known for his work on Sunset Boulevard, has tried out for the part, but it’s unclear who else is being considered.
