As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but share some exciting news about Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate. Straight from the horseshoe (or should I say, Bungie), they’ve dropped a fresh Developer Insights video! In this video, the narrative director, Alison Lührs, spills some intriguing secrets. You know that mysterious Emissary of the Nine? The once-Golden Age human turned Awoken Guardian who served Mara Sov? Well, it turns out she’s not just a servant anymore – she quit and reverted to her original name: Orin. Now, isn’t that a game-changer?
In this scene, reminiscent of the expansion’s initial cinematic trailer, players may recognize certain elements. However, as Lührs points out, this seemingly ordinary scene holds significant consequences. Will The Nine respond in a predictable manner? What if an unexpected event occurs and The Emissary is absent? Is Xûr aware that there are alternative career paths available?
It appears that Orin might train a newcomer, but it’s possible The Nine are looking for someone of their own, which only adds to the mystery (and potentially links to inviting the player to Kepler). No matter what Orin’s role is or how it affects the bigger story, we won’t have to wait too long to uncover the truth.
On July 15th, Destiny 2: The Fate’s Edge releases on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PS4, and PC. The raid for this game will be available starting July 19th. You can watch the launch trailer and discover more about its exciting new three-player activity, which is similar to Horde Mode, by clicking here.
