Halo Studios has unveiled fresh content for Halo Infinite, which is now live following the launch of its Operation: Reclaimer update. This update offers players a chance to engage in S&D Extraction mode and various other activities until August 5, while also collecting armor from Halo 4’s multiplayer modes as rewards. You can watch the Operation: Reclaimer launch trailer below.
Leading the news is the introduction of the Seek & Deploy Extraction game mode, now accessible via the Ranked and Social playlists within Halo Infinite. This new game mode features a head-to-head battle between teams of four players each, with an economic points system that requires strategic maneuvering as players either protect or attempt to capture two extractable sites concurrently.
In this game mode, everyone begins with equal chances, armed with the Bandit Evo and without access to the Motion Tracker. Each player gets just one life per round. As you progress through each round, you earn points by securing kills and completing tasks. These points can be used at the start of the next round to acquire new weapons or gear, similar to a standard game of Counter-Strike.
In each turn of play, the roles of attackers (Offense) and defenders (Defense) alternate. Whilst the Offensive side focuses on seizing key locations (extraction sites), it’s up to the Defenders to safeguard them. The game round may conclude if one entire team is wiped out by the opposing side.
In addition to S&D Extraction, Halo Infinite now offers an updated Action Sack game mode. This mode places players in lively matches featuring various mini-games. Some of the modes within the Action Sack will even incorporate popular community creations like The Gravemind and Thunderbowl. The Gravemind involves players maneuvering Mongooses to dodge a moving flesh-train, while Thunderbowl is a destruction derby utilizing Halo‘s array of weapons and vehicles.
In addition to the latest game mode and playlist enhancements, Halo Infinite is introducing a new Premium Operation Pass. This premium pass offers rewards distributed across 20 levels of progression. Purchasing the pass grants players immediate access to the Promethean Bandit weapon model and Serpentine Gradient weapon coating. Furthermore, buying the pass provides bonus XP and an extra challenge slot as well.
Halo Infinite is marking Disability Pride Month by offering players who log in before July 31 a special customization pack as a reward. This pack includes themed emblems, a visor, and an exclusive armor coating. Additionally, the in-game shop will be updated with new items, such as the Midnight Bundle that centers around the Wetwork and FOTUS armor sets. The bundle also comes with the Promethean Sniper Rifle model, the Mantle’s Aegist armor effect, and a variety of new customization options.
During the time spent on this update, it’s quite probable that Halo Studios has been engaged with other projects as well, given its rebranding from 343 Industries last year. Halo Studios hinted earlier this month about a potential announcement at the upcoming “Halo” World Championship event in October.
