Following some concerns that its release might be pushed back, Disney+ has confirmed that Season 2 of Ahsoka is still on track. While many expected the new season of Dave Filoni’s Rebels sequel to arrive in 2026, it was recently left out of Disney’s announced plans for that year, leading to speculation that it had been delayed.
However, Disney’s recent update to Disney+ suggests that’s not accurate. X user @CamandFilm noticed Ahsoka listed under a “Coming Soon in 2026” category on the streaming service.
As a huge fan, I’m so excited to hear that it’s looking like we’ll finally get Season 2 of Ahsoka within the next year! It sounds like it’s planned for release in 2026, along with other cool shows like Maul: Shadow Lord and Star Wars Visions Presents: The Ninth Jedi. Disney hasn’t given us an exact date yet, but 2026 is the current expectation, and I can’t wait!

Filming for Ahsoka Season 2 finished in October 2025, so it was surprising not to see it included in Disney’s recent preview of 2026 shows.
Season 2 of Ahsoka continues the exciting journey with Rosario Dawson as the beloved Jedi. This time, Ahsoka finds herself stranded in a different galaxy, but she’s not alone – she’s joined by the resourceful Mandalorian, Sabine Wren.
I’m really excited for the new Star Wars series! Jude Law’s son, Dawson, is taking the lead, and the cast is shaping up to be fantastic. We’ve got Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Eman Esfandi, Rory McCann – who I loved in Game of Thrones – Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Ivanna Sakhno all joining him. It’s looking like a seriously strong ensemble!
When Will Ahsoka Season 2 Be Released?

Currently, there’s no official release date for Ahsoka Season 2. Lucasfilm hasn’t shared many details about the new season, even though it appears to be the only live-action Star Wars show planned for Disney+ right now. However, fans now believe the series will return in 2026, which had recently been uncertain.
Looking at how long it took to make and release Season 1 of Ahsoka might give us a clue about when Season 2 will come out. Season 1 was filmed from May to October 2022 and then premiered about ten months later, in August 2023.
To give you an idea of timing, Ahsoka Season 2 finished filming around mid-October last year. If the pattern from Season 1 holds true, we can expect the new season to be released around late summer, probably in August or September.
As a big Star Wars fan, I’m really hoping the new Mandalorian & Grogu movie gets a good theatrical run. It would be great if it could have its time in cinemas before we jump back into more live-action MandoVerse shows. That way, it feels like a proper event before the next series comes along!
The studio might choose to delay the series, as there aren’t any other live-action streaming projects for this franchise planned right now. This pause with Ahsoka could allow Lucasfilm to better manage when it releases its streaming content.
