
The cherished detective pair will grace our screens shortly, as the series 5 plans to bring Stephen Booth’s popular Cooper and Fry book series to life.
The upcoming TV show, named Cooper and Fry, is planned as a four-part series, each episode lasting two hours. It’s going to be based in the beautiful Peak District, focusing on the investigations of two unconventional young detectives with contrasting personalities.
As a movie reviewer, I’d put it this way: In the heart of this intriguing detective tale, we meet Ben Cooper, a charming local character skillfully portrayed by none other than Robert James-Collier, best known for his roles in Downton Abbey and The Inheritance. On the other hand, we have Diane Fry, a mysterious outsider whose performance is captivatingly delivered by Mandip Gill, familiar to many from Doctor Who and Curfew.
The summary for the show describes a group forced to collaborate on solving a series of unexplained murders. As their private lives become entangled, an unusual bond develops between them; however, maintaining this friendship will not always be straightforward.
Each episode within the series will be based on one of Booth’s books, with the initial season encompassing “Black Dog”, “Dying to Sin”, “Blind To the Bones”, and “Dancing with the Virgins”.
The series was introduced along with several fresh productions for channel 5, such as the thrillers “Missed Call” and “Number One Fan,” the psychological drama “The Family Secret,” and others.
Additionally, the network has revealed plans to continue hit shows The Hardacres and The Teacher with new episodes, and they’ve got something special lined up for The Madame Blanc Mysteries – a holiday-themed special!
