Double Dragon Revive Celebrates PC and Console Launch With a New Trailer

Double Dragon Revive is now available on PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. To celebrate the game’s digital and physical launch, developer Arc System Works has released a new trailer featuring the game’s opening movie. You can watch it below.

The launch trailer doesn’t focus on showing actual gameplay; instead, it aims to create a specific atmosphere for the fighting game. We get a good look at both the playable characters and the enemies they’ll face. The characters briefly demonstrate their individual fighting styles before a powerful villain appears and challenges them.

For the physical release of Double Dragon Revive, there are three versions available: a standard edition, a Limited Edition, and a Deluxe Edition. The Limited Edition comes with the game, plus three character cards and extra outfits. The Deluxe Edition includes everything from the Limited Edition, plus a digital soundtrack, a digital art book, a Steelbook case, a printed art book, and a poster.

Double Dragon Revive continues the story of the classic Double Dragon series, offering a brand new adventure set in the same universe. Players once again control Billy and Jimmy, who must rescue their friend Marion from the Shadow Warriors gang. The game’s story feels like a throwback to the original titles, but the gameplay has been updated with a more modern approach.

Double Dragon Revive lets players unleash powerful combos by pressing different button combinations in its classic side-scrolling beat ‘em up action. You can also grab enemies to set up attacks, or even throw them into dangerous parts of the environment. Each character has a special Hyper Blow move to clear out crowds, and you can even use it while airborne for even more dynamic attacks.

Every stage in Double Dragon Revive will have its own special challenges. These will include dangerous surroundings, objects you can interact with, and different types of terrain players can use to their advantage. Expect things like wall-mounted flamethrowers and bridges over deep pits – all creating opportunities to inflict heavy damage on opponents.

In June, a new trailer for Double Dragon Revive revealed details about its Limited and Deluxe Editions, and confirmed it will also be available on Nintendo Switch. Arc System Works first announced the game in July 2024, describing it as having easy-to-learn gameplay where players can master enemy patterns by timing their attacks perfectly.
