Dragon Ball Assembles Its Most Evil Scientists as Fan Prepare For Super’s Remake

The heroes of the Dragon Ball universe, known as the Z-Fighters, have always faced incredibly powerful enemies. Goku and his friends have battled foes like Majin Buu, Jiren, and Frieza, who relied on either immense strength or cunning intelligence. Throughout the series, mad scientists have often been a threat, and now Dragon Ball is bringing several of the most dangerous ones back. The artist for Dragon Ball Super has recently gathered four of these villainous scientists together in a new update.

The artist Toyotaro regularly creates a monthly illustration celebrating the world of Dragon Ball, featuring both well-known characters and those from alternate storylines. Interestingly, Dr. Gero, the creator of the Androids and Perfect Cell, hasn’t appeared in these pieces. Although Gero died during the Cell Saga in Dragon Ball Z, his influence lives on through his grandson, Dr. Hedo, who played a key part in the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie. See below for a look at four scientists from the series.

The Mad Scientists of Dragon Ball

Let’s take a look at the four scientists featured here from Toyotaro, and who they are. First, Dr. Kochin played a key role in the Dragon Ball Z movie, The World’s Strongest. He was working for Dr. Wheelo, another villain shown in this artwork. Wheelo appeared in the movie inside a robot, but his true form was only seen in the Super Dragon Ball Heroes series. This isn’t the only villainous pair featured here, though.

Next to Kochin is the lesser-known Dr. Lychee (also called Dr. Raichi), who played a role in the Dragon Ball: Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans story. Interestingly, Lychee is a member of the Tuffle race – a people destroyed by the Saiyans who sought revenge. He isn’t the only Tuffle here; Dr. Myuu also appears. Dragon Ball fans will recognize Myuu as the creator of Baby, the villain from Dragon Ball GT, and for assisting Dr. Gero in making Super 17. While these four doctors haven’t been in the main Dragon Ball series, the recent Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball Daima have brought back characters from the sidelines, so they might appear in the future.
