Belinda Owusu is returning to EastEnders as Libby Fox later this month! Her return will finally explain one of the mysteries viewers saw in the January flash-forward episode.
The character first appeared on the show from 2006 to 2010, then made several guest appearances between 2014 and 2017. Surprisingly, they returned on New Year’s Day.
Throughout the show, she looked for her mother, Denise, alongside Patrick Trueman, and realized her phone was ringing.
Since this part of the story jumps ahead a year, it was clear we hadn’t seen the last of her.
Owusu has begun filming for the BBC soap opera in Elstree, Hertfordshire, and will appear on television in just a few weeks.
After a nine-year absence – and with many amused by her seemingly endless 16 years as a student at Oxford University – she has a lot to learn about what’s been happening. Unfortunately, the reunion of the original three actresses isn’t a joyful one.
Denise is facing a tough time after being diagnosed with an aggressive type of blood cancer and is relying on Libby for support. Adding to her worries, her nephew Jordan was injured in an accident involving Ian Beale, and she’s helping her sister Chelsea care for him as he recovers.

The actress expressed her excitement about returning to the show, saying it felt like coming home after 20 years. She especially enjoyed reuniting with her former co-stars, describing the experience as fun and filled with happy memories.
