Kelvin Fletcher, who used to play a character on Emmerdale, has confirmed he won’t be going back to the show, stating he’s moved on with his career.
The actor first became famous on the show in 1996, playing the character Andy Sugden. He left the series in 2016 and now runs a real farm, which is featured in the ITV program, Fletchers’ Family Farm.
During a recent appearance on James Martin’s Saturday Morning, former Strictly Come Dancing champion (2019) Fletcher was questioned about whether he ever feels nostalgic for his time acting in the ITV soap opera.
He stated simply, “No, I don’t,” and then added that while he enjoyed his twenty years on Emmerdale, he rarely thinks about it now.
He stated that he considers the matter closed and has moved forward. He also pointed out the amusing coincidence of becoming a farmer in real life, after previously playing one on television.
The latest season of Fletchers’ Family Farm started on ITV1 in October, following Fletcher, his wife Liz, and their four children as they continued to run their 120-acre farm in Cheshire for the fourth year.
This episode followed the family as they began lambing season, but their work was interrupted by devastating news: a fire completely destroyed their farmhouse while they were enjoying a rare day off.
The couple started sharing their farming experiences on the show in 2023, and it quickly gained popularity.
