Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is Getting Mr. Karate as Part of Season Pass 2 Later This Month

SNK announced that Mr. Karate will be the fifth downloadable character added to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves as part of its second season of updates. He’s coming to the game later this month, and a new trailer showing off his unique look – featuring a Tengu mask – has been released.

SNK has revealed six characters so far for Season 2 of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. The season began with Kim Jae Hoon, followed by Nightmare Geese, Blue Mary, and Wolfgang Krauser. Mr. Karate is coming in May, and Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star will be released in June. SNK plans to announce and release six more characters throughout the rest of the year.

Mr. Karate first appeared in the 1992 game, Art of Fighting. The developers have said he’s incredibly strong and skilled, but haven’t shared any further information about him yet.

In April, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves welcomed a new character, Wolfgang Krauser, alongside a significant free update. This update introduced several new features, including a story mode called Wolves’ Destiny – a first for the Fatal Fury series. The story centers on a conflict between Emperor Krauser and Kain, the Emperor of Second South, and boasts a script of over 15,000 words, fully voiced in both English and Japanese.

Krauser first appeared as the main villain in Fatal Fury 2, where Terry Bogard defeated him. Despite this, he’s back in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves seeking revenge. He fights using fast punches, powerful slams, attacks from above, and a variety of aerial moves.

So, it’s pretty cool that Kenshiro is joining Season 2 of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves as the sixth character, even though they showed him off way back in March! From what I’ve seen, his fighting style is going to be all about Hokuto Shinken – basically, he’ll be hitting pressure points to take down opponents in some really brutal and unique ways. They actually teased him with an animated short back in January, which you should definitely check out if you want a sneak peek at how he’ll fit into the Fatal Fury world.

You can play Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Released in April 2025, our review highlighted the game’s impressive characters and art, as well as the engaging REV gameplay system. We did point out some areas for improvement, including limited enemy types, a somewhat basic presentation, and a clunky user interface, which held the fighting game back a bit.
