Square Enix has officially announced that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the second game in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series, will be released on June 3rd worldwide, and it’s coming to the new Nintendo Switch 2 (as well as probably Xbox Series X/S). You can watch the first gameplay footage from the Switch 2 version below.
After leaving Midgar, Cloud and his companions begin their journey across a much larger world to find Sephiroth. This game features vast, explorable areas, letting you battle enemies, complete side quests, and travel using Chocobos. There are also fun mini-games like Queen’s Blood and updated versions of beloved moments, such as the parade.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth introduces new characters you can add to your party, like Yuffie, Cait Sith, and Red XIII, each offering different ways to play. You’ll even get to play as Sephiroth during certain memories of the past. The battle system is better than ever, with a new way to level up, team-based Synergy Skills, and powerful Summons. If you’re looking for a large, immersive RPG, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth delivers, and it also offers options to make your progress faster.
For a deeper dive, you can read our reviews of the PS5 and PC versions. Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 will eventually be available on Nintendo Switch 2, as well as PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, but we don’t have a release date yet.
The unknown journey continues, and the fate of Cloud Strife and his friends unfolds when FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH arrives on #NintendoSwitch2 June 3rd.
