
Square Enix revealed that Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, a revamped version of the beloved strategy game, has sold a significant number of copies.
The publisher announced on social media that the game has sold over one million copies.
The Ivalice Chronicles is an updated release of the classic PlayStation game, with improved graphics, complete voiceovers, and new gameplay features. It also lets you play the original, classic version if you prefer.
The game was a hit with both reviewers and players, successfully capturing what made the original great while also updating it for a modern audience.
Okay, so Square Enix is known for wanting big numbers, but honestly, the original director of the game, Yasumi Matsuno, thought it would take around three years for the remaster to sell between 800,000 and a million copies. Can you believe it actually hit that mark in just three months? That’s insane!
He’s since admitted he underestimated the game’s sales potential.
