Florence Pugh has a packed year coming up! She’s set to appear in two major blockbusters, Avengers: Doomsday and Dune Part Three, which are both scheduled to hit theaters on the same day. Plus, she’ll also be starring in a new Netflix series based on East of Eden.
Now, the trailer for that limited series has been unveiled.
In 2022, Netflix announced plans to create a series based on John Steinbeck’s 1952 novel. Florence Pugh will play the character Cathy Ames, and Zoe Kazan is writing the seven-episode show.
After six years, the first trailer for the series has been released, and it’s coming this fall. Mike Faist, known for his role in Challengers, will also be appearing in the show.

This new series is a modern take on John Steinbeck’s classic story, following the complex history of the Trask family and particularly highlighting the compelling, yet flawed, character of Cathy Ames.
Florence Pugh and Colman Domingo lead the cast of the new series, joined by Tracy Letts as Cyrus Trask, Martha Plimpton as Faye, Ciarán Hinds as Samuel Hamilton, Joseph Zada as Cal Trask, and Colman Domingo as Charles Trask.
Joe Anders will portray Aron Trask, Christopher Abbott will play Adam Trask, and Hoon Lee will take on the role of Lee.

East of Eden marks Kazan’s third writing project, following her work on the films Ruby Sparks and Wildlife. While she’s primarily recognized as an actress—with roles in projects like The Big Sick, The Deuce, and She Said—she’s also establishing herself as a writer.
