Some TV shows grab your attention right away, while others take a bit more time to really get good. Like a great book, you might not even realize when you’ve become completely invested. The Terminal List is one of those shows that slowly draws you in. After three years of gaining a dedicated following, it’s poised to become a major hit.
The second season of The Terminal List is coming soon! Filming finished in March 2026 after shooting in South Africa, Toronto, and Morocco. If post-production takes about as long as it did for Season 1, we can expect it to be released sometime between September and October 2026. This means it will be released around the same time as Season 4 of Reacher, making Prime Video’s lineup of action shows even more crowded.
Why ‘The Terminal List’ Season 2 Could Outshine ‘Reacher’ This Year

It’s safe to say Reacher is a fantastic show. Alan Ritchson was a brilliant choice for the lead role, and the series has consistently delivered quality with each season. It’s hard to imagine anything changing that. However, Reacher has settled into a predictable pattern. While this formula works well, viewers are starting to anticipate what happens next. That’s why Season 3 felt a bit familiar, and why Season 4’s adaptation of Gone Tomorrow – a more suspenseful spy thriller – could be just what the show needs to freshen things up.
Season 2 of The Terminal List has built up real excitement, something the Reacher series currently lacks. Fans have been waiting four years for the new season, and that anticipation is a good thing. It will be based on Jack Carr’s second book, True Believer, and continues the story of James Reece (Chris Pratt) with a worldwide adventure. Chris Pratt, who also helps produce the show, says this season is exceptional. Knowing he’s been honest about the show in the past, that’s a strong indication it’s a significant improvement over Season 1.
Despite receiving a low 40% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, the first season of The Terminal List unexpectedly gained a large and enthusiastic audience. The show earned a 94% Audience Score, suggesting it connected with viewers in a way traditional metrics couldn’t predict. It’s an intense, captivating series with a fast pace that appeals to those seeking genuine excitement. Now, Season 2 is building on that success with improved production quality and a more focused storyline.
‘The Terminal List: Dark Wolf’ Already Proved the Franchise Is A Hit

While viewers were waiting for Season 2, the creators released a spin-off prequel called The Terminal List: Dark Wolf on Prime Video in 2025. This helped maintain excitement for the franchise. The spin-off centers around Ben Edwards (played by Taylor Kitsch), a popular character from the original series, and it proved to be a smart move. Dark Wolf quickly rose to #2 on Prime Video’s most-watched list, only behind the final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty. That’s a very strong start! Critics also enjoyed the show, giving it a 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and praising it as even more captivating than the original. It’s rare for a spin-off to receive better reviews and still attract such large audiences.
The world of Reacher is expanding with a new spin-off series, Neagley, starring Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, who runs a detective agency in Chicago. Filming finished in June 2025, and it’s expected to premiere on Prime Video in the summer of 2026, potentially before Season 4 of Reacher. Fans are enthusiastic, and the creators have built a strong reputation. Alan Ritchson will also make an appearance, connecting the spin-off to the original series.
Since Amazon owns all three shows, 2026 is going to be packed with action on Prime Video. With Neagley, Season 4 of Reacher, and Season 2 of The Terminal List all coming out, the platform is almost competing against itself. The Terminal List has been highly anticipated for four years, and its spin-off has already shown the series can succeed even without Chris Pratt as the lead, so it might actually become more popular than Reacher this year.
