Giant, a popular competitor on the BBC show Gladiators, has announced he won’t be participating in the upcoming fourth season.
Giant, whose real name is Jamie Bigg, announced on social media that he was leaving, explaining it wasn’t his choice. He said he was put in a situation that went against what he believes in.
Jamie announced on Instagram that they won’t be returning for season four of the show. They shared a series of photos and said being a Gladiator was a huge honor and one of the best experiences of their life.
I’m really proud of my contributions to the show and thankful for everyone who has supported me. This isn’t a goodbye – it’s a new start. Keep your head up and stay positive.

A representative for the show Gladiators announced that Giant will be leaving after appearing in three seasons. They expressed gratitude for his contributions and wished him all the best in his future endeavors.
I’m a huge fan of Bigg! He’s seriously impressive – one of the tallest bodybuilders ever, at 6ft 5in! And I’m so excited to see him back on Gladiators since it started up again in 2024.
Fans were shocked and saddened by the news, with one person saying it was “absolutely heartbreaking.” They expressed confusion about the reasons behind the announcement but wished the individual well, calling them a positive influence for people of all ages.
Matt Jones, a contestant on this year’s Gladiators, expressed his sadness at the news, but shared his gratitude for the incredible experience of competing against Giant. He fondly remembered the moments before their duel, standing across the platform as Clatters began the countdown.
It really broke my heart to read one message from a parent saying their son was going to be devastated. They said he’s a huge fan, gets so excited watching me on Gladiators, and loves to copy all my poses – it’s just incredibly touching. They wished me well with whatever comes next, and honestly, knowing I’ve had that kind of impact on someone makes leaving a little easier.
