Guy Ritchie’s new action film, which could become a series of movies, will soon be available to watch for free.
When you think of classic action movie series, names like Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Tom Cruise immediately come to mind. Franchises such as Rambo, Taken, Bourne, Mission: Impossible, Die Hard, James Bond, and Terminator are among the most beloved. More recently, series like John Wick, Extraction, and Nobody have revitalized the genre with new stars and exciting action. A 2021 film directed by Ritchie has all the potential to launch a new, successful franchise and will soon be released.
Tubi is adding a lot of new movies in May, including Ritchie’s Wrath of Man, available to stream for free starting May 1st. Along with the action film, viewers can also enjoy titles from popular franchises like Jack Reacher, James Bond, Legally Blonde, Creed, Star Trek, and The Hunger Games. There’s something for everyone with this large collection of new additions!
I was really excited for Wrath of Man when it came out in theaters on May 7, 2021, and I wasn’t disappointed! It’s a great action movie that made around $104 million worldwide. Considering it cost about $40 million to make, it needed to earn between $80 and $100 million just to cover its costs, and thankfully, it did! It actually made more than 2.5 times what it cost to produce. Plus, it was awesome to see director Guy Ritchie team up with Jason Statham again – they’ve worked together a lot! I loved seeing them collaborate on classics like Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels back in 1998, Snatch in 2000, and Revolver in 2005, so I was hoping for another win – and it delivered!
With Viva La Madness now in production, Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham are continuing a frequent working relationship. This marks their fourth project together, following Wrath of Man, 2023’s Operation Fortune: Ruse De Guerre (which also starred Josh Hartnett from Wrath of Man), and now Viva La Madness. The cast of Viva La Madness, which began filming in February, also includes Vinnie Jones, Jason Isaacs, Camila Mendes, and other notable actors, as reported by Deadline.
I just finished watching Wrath of Man, and it’s a really interesting take on the action genre. Jason Statham plays Patrick Hill, a new armored truck driver with a hidden past that unravels after a heist. What’s cool about this movie is how it’s structured – it’s broken into four distinct parts, each giving us a deeper look into Statham’s character and why he’s doing what he’s doing. And people are loving it! It’s got a fantastic 90% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, and if you’re looking for something to watch, it’s streaming for free on Tubi starting May 1st – definitely check it out if you’re a fan of Ritchie and Statham’s work together.
