HBO Max is introducing a new “Channels” feature that lets subscribers easily jump into curated, continuous streams of their favorite shows. This announcement follows a preview of upcoming 2026 projects, including the DC series Lanterns. Users are sure to love this simple way to enjoy ongoing marathons.
After the recent announcement, these channels started appearing on HBO Max accounts on Friday, but it will take some time for everyone in the U.S. to see them. Once the update reaches your HBO Max home screen, you’ll have 12 channels to explore.

How HBO Max Channels Work
Unlike regular TV channels or streaming services like Pluto TV, HBO Max channels combine live, continuous streams with on-demand viewing. When you tune into a channel, it starts playing whatever’s currently airing from the beginning, and then continues with the scheduled content.
As a movie and TV buff, I’m really impressed with the variety of channels available. They cover everything from big categories like true crime and adult animation, to dedicated channels for my favorite shows! You can even binge-watch entire franchises. They’ve got channels specifically for shows like Friends and The Big Bang Theory, plus deep dives into worlds like Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, and everything DC!
Here’s the full list of the new HBO Max channels:
- Adult Animation: Popular adult animated series from fan favorites to recent hits.
- The Big Bang Theory: Bazinga! Every nerd-centric episode.
- DC: Enter the DC Universe featuring your favorite heroes, villains, and sidekicks.
- Friends: All 10 seasons of the beloved sitcom, all the time.
- Harry Potter: The 8-film collection plus more from the wizarding world.
- Holiday Favorites: It’s always the season.
- Middle-earth: Tolkien’s classic stories come to life across two epic trilogies.
- Rick and Morty: Every season of the multiverse-spanning adult animation series.
- The Sopranos: All seasons of the legendary HBO Original series and more.
- Sex and the City: Hit series about a writer and her friends navigating life and love in New York City and more.
- True Crime: Shocking documentaries ripped straight from the headlines.
- World of Westeros: An epic collection of stories from the Seven Kingdoms.
I’m really excited about this new feature! It seems like it’s perfect for those times when you just want to relax and enjoy something great without endlessly scrolling. It’s like HBO Max is taking care of everything, offering a constant flow of beloved shows and movies, and making it even easier to dive into their incredible collection. It’s all about effortless enjoyment, and I think a lot of people will love that!
As a total movie and TV buff, I’m really curious to hear what everyone’s planning to watch on the new HBO Max channels! Seriously, which ones are you most hyped about? Let’s chat about it over on the ComicBook Forum – come share your picks!
