Highly-Rated Single-Player Adventure Game Confirms PS5 Release for 2026

As we’re about halfway through 2026, it’s clear this has been a fantastic year for new games. Titles like Pokemon Pokopia and Resident Evil Requiem were early successes, and Forza Horizon 6 even earned the year’s first Metacritic score above 90. With so many big releases, some excellent games haven’t gotten the attention they deserve, including the latest installment in the OPUS series, OPUS: Prism Peak. Fortunately, it’s about to reach a wider audience with an upcoming release on PlayStation 5 later this year.

The puzzle game Prism Peak launched in mid-April for PC and Nintendo Switch (including the new Switch 2). It quickly earned high praise, receiving an 86 rating on Metacritic and placing it among the year’s best games. However, its release coincided with the popular game Pragmata, which meant it didn’t receive as much attention as its excellent reviews deserved. Despite this, Prism Peak is clearly a standout title, as evidenced by its positive scores on both Steam and Metacritic. Soon, even more players will be able to enjoy it, with a confirmed release planned for the PlayStation 5.

OPUS: Prism Peak Sets 2026 Release Window for PS5 Edition

The OPUS series started in 2015 with the mobile game OPUS: The Day We Found Earth. Since then, fans have enjoyed several sequels on different platforms, making it a popular series of story-focused adventures. OPUS: Prism Peak is the fourth game in the series and, after a few delays, was released for PC and Nintendo Switch / Switch 2 earlier this year. Based on reviews, it seems the wait was worthwhile.

OPUS: Prism Peak is receiving excellent reviews! On Steam, 92% of players recommend it, and it maintains a strong score of 86 on Metacritic with a player rating of 8.5/10. This puts it among the best-reviewed games of the year, with players especially loving its captivating story and unique photography gameplay. If you enjoy story-focused adventure games, OPUS: Prism Peak is definitely worth checking out. Plus, a version for PlayStation 5 is coming soon!

On May 22nd, OPUS: Prism Peak was officially confirmed to be coming to the PlayStation 5, accompanied by a new trailer. You can watch the trailer below to get a feel for the game’s heartwarming and emotional atmosphere.

Prism Peak is a beautiful game with visuals inspired by anime and a story full of emotion. You play as a photographer who gets lost in a strange place called the Dusklands. There, you meet a young girl who doesn’t remember anything, and the two of you travel together. By taking pictures and exploring the island, you’ll solve mysteries about the past and try to find a way back home.

Even though OPUS: Prism Peak is part of a larger series, each story is complete on its own. While the games share common ideas and have some connections, you don’t need to play previous titles to understand and enjoy this one. You can start playing when it comes to PS5 later this year without having to play through the older OPUS games first.

You can play OPUS: Prism Peak now on PC through Steam, as well as on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. It costs $24.99. The PlayStation 5 version is still in development and is expected to be released in 2026.
