How Taylor Swift Supported Cara Delevingne’s Music Career

Taylor Swift taught Cara Delevingne how to live the life of a showgirl.

Now that she’s starting her music career and recently announced her first headlining concerts, she revealed some helpful advice she received from the 14-time Grammy Award winner.

Speaking at Billboard’s Women in Music event in Los Angeles on April 29th, Cara explained that as you achieve more, you’ll inevitably face more scrutiny. She emphasized that art should be a genuine reflection of who you are, and that if you’re staying true to yourself, outside opinions shouldn’t be a concern.

Cara said that one of the reasons she took a flower from Taylor’s bouquet was as a reminder that she’ll eventually connect with people who appreciate her music.

As she put it, “The only thing I want is for people to feel things from this music.”

Taylor wasn’t the only performer Cara turned to for guidance. The 33-year-old shared that Alanis Morissette and Fiona Apple heavily influenced her new singles, “I Forgot” and “Out of My Head,” which she revealed on April 24th.

Cara shared that Fiona Apple has been a huge inspiration to her, and continues to be. More than just an idol, Fiona also encouraged Cara’s confidence and creativity, and they often exchanged thoughtful ideas and inspiration with each other.

Cara found Fiona, Alanis, and Taylor to be even more impressive in person than she’d imagined when they were just artists she admired. Becoming friends with them only deepened her respect.

Honestly, for me, female friendship is everything. I truly don’t think I’d be here today if it weren’t for the incredible women I have in my life. They’ve saved me, plain and simple. It’s not an exaggeration to say they’re the reason I keep going.

Cara has consistently shown her support for Taylor, and she quickly believed that Taylor’s new relationship with Travis Kelce was exactly what her friend needed.

Cara told TopMob News in 2023 that she noticed a big change in them and expressed how happy she was for her friend.

Nicole, who has always loved her sister-in-law’s films, asked her a few years ago if she’d recreate some memorable scenes, including a famous one from My Best Friend’s Wedding.

While in Chicago, I asked Cameron to help me with a bit. I told her to run towards me from behind the luggage carts, heading into the airport, as I shared on the Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino podcast in May 2024. I was directing her, telling her exactly what to say while we were driving, and she happily obliged. She was incredibly accommodating and really let me take the lead.

It’s a good thing Lawrence was available to hang out, because we almost missed out on one of our favorite friendships! Their connection started when the Oscar winner emailed Schumer after seeing her 2015 movie, Trainwreck. She told The New York Times she wrote, ‘I don’t know where to begin, but I have to say it: I’m in love with you.’ They began emailing, which quickly turned into texting.

But their friendship really became strong when Schumer casually invited Lawrence to spend time with her and her high school friends in the Hamptons. Schumer was surprised when Lawrence accepted, but quickly realized she was “the coolest person you’ll ever meet,” as she shared on The Daily Show. Lawrence fit right in, and Schumer said she was just “one of the gang.”

Everyone would want a friend who’s successful and established in their community! Jennifer Lopez and her best friend, Remini, have been incredibly close ever since they met and instantly connected at the premiere of Man on Fire in 2004. Lopez described it as an immediate and effortless connection, saying she instantly loved Remini’s company and sense of humor.

Remini was also enthusiastically cheering on Lopez when she performed at President Joe Biden’s inauguration. She messaged Lopez, reminding her of her Bronx roots and saying the performance was inspiring and beautiful to watch.

Considered the ultimate celebrity friendship, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, and Lisa Kudrow have remained close ever since they bonded while working on the set of Friends. According to a source, their shared experience on the show created a lasting connection. Just like staying in touch with former colleagues, they prioritize spending time together, whether it’s for casual get-togethers or bigger reunions. Because they live relatively close to each other, it’s easy to gather for things like Courteney’s Sunday dinners or pool parties at Jennifer’s house, and they all feel deeply connected and expect to remain friends forever.

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey have been incredibly close friends ever since they met in an improv class in 1993 – so much so that people often comment on their strong connection. Poehler, who has one younger brother named Greg, described their bond to PopSugar as that of “chosen sisters” and “chosen family.” She explained that their friendship has allowed her to experience a familial connection she hadn’t had before, especially while working together on their 2015 movie, Sisters.

Philipps described meeting Williams on the set of Dawson’s Creek as love at first sight. They quickly bonded, sharing a natural connection and enjoying things like drinking wine, smoking cigarettes, and even getting into trouble together. That instant affection has lasted for years. Luckily for fans, we get a glimpse into their life together – from walking red carpets in matching outfits to playfully dyeing Williams’ hair a trendy pink.

Drake and Adele, despite only recently considering a partnership, seem eager to work together. After years of admiring each other’s music – they’ve won a combined 19 Grammy Awards – they started talking about a possible collaboration. Adele mentioned to etalk that she’d love to create an official remix of one of their songs, and gushed about how much she loves Drake, even going so far as to order the red coat he wore in a music video. Drake responded with equal enthusiasm, jokingly offering to do chores for Adele. Instead of immediately recording, they opted for a casual hangout, enjoying a meal and a bowling outing in Los Angeles. It seems a collaboration is definitely in the works – just don’t expect it immediately.

After receiving wonderful support from other women during her pregnancies, Washington has made it a priority to offer the same to her celebrity friends. She shared with Entertainment Tonight that she aims to have open and honest conversations, especially with Eva Longoria. Longoria greatly appreciated Washington’s advice when she welcomed her son, Santiago, in 2018, playfully referring to Washington as “basically my doula.”

Oh my gosh, can you believe it? Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are working together again! It’s been over 20 years since Good Will Hunting won the Oscar, and now they’re doing The Last Duel. Seriously, it’s like a dream come true! They’ve been friends forever – Matt said they’ve known each other for 35 years and basically grew up together! They both just loved acting and making movies, and he said they fueled each other’s passion when they were young. It’s so sweet! They’re totally bonded for life, and I’m obsessed with their friendship!

The friendship between two prominent TV personalities began in 1976 while they worked at a Baltimore station. Although Oprah Winfrey was an anchor and Gayle King a production assistant, and they didn’t usually mix socially due to the newsroom’s structure, a snowstorm brought them together. Oprah invited Gayle, who earned $12,000 a year, to stay with her. The next day, they went shopping at the mall, and a lasting friendship blossomed over sweaters at Casual Corner.

While your dates probably don’t involve Wimbledon or palaces, Meghan Markle and the tennis star’s connection started just like many others—with casual conversation. Meghan wrote on her now-closed website, The Tig, that they “clicked right away” at a 2014 Super Bowl event. They spent time taking pictures, laughing during a flag football game, and chatting about everyday things – not tennis or acting, but typical ‘girly stuff.’

Even though Game of Thrones has ended, the close bond between Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams remains strong. Williams, who was a bridesmaid at Turner’s wedding to Joe Jonas in 2019, believes the most valuable outcome of the show’s eight seasons wasn’t its 12 Emmy Awards. She playfully told TopMob News at the final season premiere that the show felt like a long and complex journey to find her best friend. “It’s been incredible,” she added, “and having a friend like Sophie during such a crazy experience was a true blessing.”

Everyone’s heart probably melted when Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds reacted with joy as their oldest daughter, James, recognized Taylor Swift’s song “Gorgeous” at a concert. Lively later jokingly called the video embarrassing, telling Robin Roberts on Good Morning America that it showed their “unfiltered, over-the-top pride” as parents. But the genuine friendship between the families – marked by Fourth of July celebrations at Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island home, gatherings at Lively and Reynolds’ country house, and appearances in Swift’s music videos – is something special and worth cherishing.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon have a friendship that goes way back, even before their Apple TV+ show, The Morning Show. They first acted together as sisters on an NBC series in 2000. Witherspoon, who had recently given birth to her daughter Ava Phillippe, remembers being 23 and still breastfeeding on set. She recalled Aniston repeatedly asking about the baby, which felt strange at the time. Witherspoon would explain she was pumping breast milk, and Aniston was incredibly kind and supportive. They’ve been close friends ever since that initial encounter.

Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg formed an unlikely but captivating friendship, first gaining attention at Justin Bieber’s Comedy Central Roast in 2015. This connection later blossomed into their VH1 cooking show, Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party. Snoop Dogg explained to LA Weekly that Martha Stewart, though different from people he usually hangs out with, feels surprisingly familiar. He appreciates her genuine personality and how easily they connect. He described their dynamic as feeling like a true partnership, a “holy matrimony” rather than just a casual connection.
