Players can now obtain Keldeo in Pokémon Go by completing the first step of the ‘Tales of Transformation’ Special Research, which became available in 2025. However, unlocking its stronger Resolute Form requires a bit more effort and isn’t immediately obvious.
Pokémon Go has seen similar hidden features before. When the game first launched in 2026, players had to learn a secret naming system to collect all the different forms of Eevee.
To make your Colt Pokémon stronger and teach it the powerful Secret Sword attack, you’ll need to complete more Special Research.
Here’s exactly how to change Kelodo into its Resolute Form in Pokémon Go.
How to change Keldeo from Ordinary Form to Resolute Form
In Pokémon Go, you can evolve Keldeo into its Resolute Form by using 50 Keldeo Candy and 10,000 Stardust. Just go to Keldeo’s page in your Pokémon storage and tap the ‘Change Form’ button. You’ll probably need to play through more of the Tales of Transformation Special Research to collect enough Keldeo Candy.
When Keldo was first released in Pokémon Go with the Tales of Transformation event, its Resolute Form wasn’t immediately available. It was added in November 2025 during the Final Justice event, which also introduced the Shiny Keldeo to the game.

While it’s possible to unlock Resolute Form without playing further into the Tales of Transformation story, continuing the story will significantly speed up collecting the necessary Keldeo Candy.
If you used a Pinap Berry while catching Keldeo in Pokémon Go (which gives you double Candy), you should already have the 50 Candy needed to unlock its Resolute Form. This is because you get a lot of Candy as rewards for completing each step of the Tales of Transformation quest, and you’ve likely finished at least Step 4 of the 8-step quest.
Unlike other Pokémon, you can only get more Keldo Candy by using Rare Candies or by making Keldeo your Buddy Pokémon and walking 20 kilometers to earn a candy.
Instead of walking an additional 940 kilometers to collect 44 to 47 Keldeo Candy, completing more Tales of Transformation events is a much faster way to get them.
After you unlock Resolute Form Keldeo in Pokémon Go, it will learn Secret Sword – a powerful Fighting-type attack. In Gyms, Raids, and Max Battles, Secret Sword has a Power of 120, while it has a Power of 70 in battles against other Trainers.
