There were a few heated rivals of Hudson Williams’ look at the 2026 Met Gala.
The star of Heated Rivalry won over a lot of fans with his stylish powder blue Balenciaga suit and striking red and blue eye makeup. However, some online viewers didn’t like the look, describing it as unkempt.
Okay, so all this drama with people talking about Kate Hudson’s hair? It’s just… a lot. But her amazing groomer, Aika Flores, finally spoke up, and honestly, she’s a queen. She said she can handle any comment – good or bad – with grace and gratitude, and I just… I stan a professional who can stay so calm! It’s so refreshing to see someone so poised amidst all the negativity. I’m just obsessed with Aika now!
Aika shared on Threads on May 6th that setbacks are a natural part of growing. She believes taking chances involves some level of risk, and she accepts that. She also emphasized that she’s always open to learning and improving, regardless of her current career stage.
The groomer, who has styled the hair of celebrities like Joe Jonas and Alex Warren, responded to criticism by asking people to be understanding and compassionate in their feedback.
Aika added, “Everyone has a right to their opinion, but it’s important to remember that real people put their heart and soul into their work. Being kind doesn’t cost anything.”
In a follow-up post, she added, “Please be kind to each other. *logging off.”
Even though some viewers didn’t think Hudson’s makeup was quite right, the actor himself felt it was fantastic, saying “Aika nailed it.”

He explained to Vogue at the Met Gala that his makeup look was inspired by the movie Black Swan, which he and his groomer, Aika, both love. They aimed to capture the film’s theme of transformation, specifically the transition from the White Swan to the Black Swan.
He also thought about how he and Aika worked together to develop his artistic style, especially as he grows and changes throughout his career.
Okay, so I was reading this Vogue interview, and he was just describing their whole vibe, and it’s EVERYTHING. He said they’re constantly evolving, never settling on one thing, which, honestly, is genius. And he talked about how they love blending masculine and feminine elements into everything they do. Then he mentioned the makeup, and he was like, ‘We’re just going wild and having fun!’ It’s just…it’s so freeing and creative, and I’m completely obsessed with how they just do whatever they want. Seriously, it’s amazing!
To look back at some of the looks that won the 2026 Met Gala, keep reading…

The singer, known as “Manchild,” followed the “Fashion Is Art” theme by wearing a Dior dress decorated with celluloid film strips from the classic movie Sabrina, starring Aubrey Hepburn. She finished the outfit with Christian Louboutin heels.

Rihanna sparkled like a diamond at the event, wearing a stunning Maison Margiela gown covered in over 115,000 crystals, vintage jewels, and unique decorative pieces.

The YouTuber looked like she had just stepped out of an oil painting in this custom Mugler design.

The Grammy-winning artist celebrated the human form with a stunning gown by Olivier Rousteing, designed to look like a skeleton.

Though she wasn’t wearing Prada, the actress from Devil Wears Prada 2 still perfectly captured the “Fashion Is Art” theme in a stunning Michael Kors gown. The dress featured unique, hand-painted designs created by artist Peter McGough.

The star of Heated Rivalry turned heads on the red carpet wearing a Saint Laurent outfit, including a polka-dot halter top with a long, flowing train.

Tennis star Venus Williams, a co-chair of the 2026 Met Gala, perfectly captured the event’s “Costume Art” theme. She wore a stunning gown covered in Swarovski crystals and a bold necklace designed after the iconic Wimbledon plate.

The rapper explained to Vogue that her silicone Saint Laurent dress was designed to look like the flowing fabric on an ancient Greek statue.

Following the event’s “Fashion is Art” theme, reality star Kim Kardashian worked with British artist Allen Jones to create a custom breastplate for her, made of fiberglass.

The actress from Euphoria seemed inspired by Gustav Klimt’s 1912 painting, “Mäda Primavesi,” with her Prada outfit. Her nail artist, Emi Kudo, created a nail look matching the artwork’s soft, muted colors—pale blues, whites, yellows, and grays—by layering six different shades of DND Gel polish.

Rhode Skin founder Hailey Bieber’s Saint Laurent dress took inspiration from sculptures and featured a bodice crafted from 24-karat gold.

The gown worn by the actress from Michael was custom-made by DiPetsa and designed to look like the flowing fabrics often seen in Italian sculptures, mirroring the way sculptors shape stone.

The rapper certainly lived up to the name ‘Fashion Killa’ with his outfit: a custom Chanel pink wool robe featuring black satin lapels and trim.

As a huge fan, I was absolutely floored by what Halsey wore to the Met Gala! She completely understood the theme – it was all about the body – and her custom Valentino gown was daring and stunning. It was a really bold, skin-revealing look, and she just owned it.
Hairstylist Yusef Williams, speaking to TopMob News, said he styled her hair to look “very ethereal, almost like a work of art.”
To create the style, I first used the Wavytalk Steam Sesh to straighten her roots, then defined her curls with the Cool Curl Pencil. Finally, I used the Turblow Pro diffuser to set the style and keep it in place, as I explained in a statement.

As a style enthusiast, I have to say, one actress absolutely dominated the fashion scene with her incredible gown. It was a Thom Browne creation, and the detail was breathtaking! She channeled the iconic ‘Venus de Milo’ statue, and get this – the dress was covered in over 1.5 million colorful sequins! It was a true showstopper and a brilliant way to make a statement.

The star of KPop Demon Hunters honored her Korean roots with a Swarovski outfit inspired by the beautiful and elegant female entertainers of the Joseon dynasty.
She told Vogue that these women were true artists – the most sophisticated and cultured individuals of their era, excelling in music, poetry, and witty conversation.

Okay, seriously, Keke Palmer absolutely stunned at this event! She wore this incredible red Prabal Gurung dress, and it looked amazing with her Christian Louboutin heels. But the best part? Her Wempe necklace wasn’t just gorgeous, it was actually worth a million dollars! I was completely blown away by how incredible she looked.
As a stylist, I always love completing a look, and for Keke’s stunning scarlet hair, Ashanti Lation used products from Creme of Nature. It really brought the whole vision together!

The singer, known for “Close to You,” wore a Chanel gown inspired by Gustav Klimt’s famous painting, “The Kiss.” Like the artwork, the dress was covered in gold.
