Hulu is continuing to deliver popular and critically acclaimed shows, and a major psychological thriller has just returned for its third season, proving to be another streaming success. Over the past few years, Hulu has become a go-to platform for quality television, with ongoing hits like the dramas Reasonable Doubt and Shogun, and comedies like Only Murders in the Building and The Bear. While many of these shows are award winners, the recently returned thriller has gained a dedicated following and is based on the bestselling novel by Carola Lovering.
Season three of Tell Me Lies premiered on Hulu with three episodes on January 13th, and new episodes are being released weekly through February 17th. The show quickly became popular, according to FlixPatrol, reaching number one in multiple countries and topping Hulu’s most-watched list in the U.S. on January 15th. It continued to perform well, staying within the top five most-watched shows over the weekend.
Tell Me Lies follows the complicated relationship between Lucy and Stephen over eight years, starting when they meet in college. The show jumps between the past and present, revealing how their lives unravelled. The latest season begins with flashbacks and scenes after their wedding, as long-held secrets start to come to light.
Tell Me Lies Continues to Be a Big Hit on Hulu

I’m really hooked on Tell Me Lies, and it looks like a lot of other people are too! Even though it’s slipped to number four overall on Hulu now that the initial buzz has died down, it’s still the most popular original series on the platform. Only established network shows like Grey’s Anatomy and the 9-1-1 shows are beating it, which is pretty impressive. It’s even doing better than High Potential, and I know Disney was really pushing that one with ads everywhere!
The show Tell Me Lies has been well-received by critics, particularly for its diverse hiring practices, with a focus on women and people of color. This representation likely resonates with female viewers who want to see stories told from a female perspective. The first season earned a 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with audiences giving it a 70% score. The second season has proven even more popular with audiences, boasting a 90% rating, though critics haven’t yet widely reviewed the newest season.
Season 3 of Tell Me Lies concludes on Hulu with its final episode on February 17th. New episodes are released every Tuesday.
