Developers Bad Choices Loud Noises and Duckosaurus just announced their new psychological horror game, Impermanence. A one-minute trailer reveals the game’s setting – a dilapidated theater – and hints at the central storyline. You can watch the trailer below.
The game unfolds within the eerie, deserted Orpheum Theatre, where you play a man haunted by loss. Each night, he returns, bringing boxes filled with cherished memories – toys, photos, awards, and drawings – desperately hoping to hear his son’s voice just one more time.
As the player works to restore their son’s room within the theatre, strange things begin to happen – small particles start appearing in the air, suggesting something is being pulled into our world. But this experiment hasn’t gone exactly as planned, and it seems like someone – or something – else is also paying attention to both you and your son.
Impermanence is a story-driven horror game where you experience a tale of grief, obsession, and a man struggling to accept loss. You’ll use sound-based technology to hold onto fading memories, but an ancient power is working against you.
This story isn’t about monsters or fighting back against them. Instead, it focuses completely on the father’s personal journey and development.
Impermanence is a game currently in development for PC, and its release date hasn’t been announced yet. It’s unclear if it will be available on consoles at a later time.
