Influencer Tanner Martin Announces His Own Death at 30

The online community has lost a bright light.

30-year-old Influencer, Tanner Martin, passed away after a prolonged struggle with colon cancer. His wife, Shay Martin, announced the sad news via an Instagram post they jointly manage, aiming to provide comfort and support during this difficult time.

In the June 25th video, Tanner greeted viewers by saying, “Hello, it’s me, Tanner. If you’re viewing this now, I have passed away.” He shared that he had a remarkable life and found it fitting to release this video to express his thoughts, as well as provide an opportunity for his audience to reflect on any support his loved ones might need. The inspiration for this approach came from observing another influencer do something similar about a year ago.

Recognizing that Shay might require “a period of mourning,” Tanner decided to create a video so that she could share it if she wished, allowing her to temporarily step away from social media for however long she required.

Addressing you all personally, Tanner – who was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 – expressed his heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support during his health struggle. He kindly asks that you continue to lend your support to Shay and their precious daughter, AmyLou, or affectionately known as Jiaozi, whom they welcomed on May 15.

He expressed his gratitude, saying, “I appreciate everything you’ve done for me during my stay here. Not only that, but your kindness and care extended to my family as well. Could I please ask for your continued prayers for my beloved Shay and our baby girl Jiaozi at this moment?

Tanner also looked ahead to the afterlife, sharing his hopes about who he might meet again. 

He expressed, “I truly loved my time here; it was fantastic! I’ve got a feeling there’s more beyond this, and I can’t wait to encounter those individuals. Perhaps we’re already sharing laughter at the expense of some self-proclaimed ‘nerds’.

He went on to say, “Death can be frightening, but it’s also a fresh journey.” There’s a touch of excitement within him about it. However, not the kind of excitement that suggests he wants to end his life; rather, he’s eager to discover what this new experience might hold. I appreciate each and every one of you, and I want to express my gratitude once more for all your support. You’ve made the past few years of my life memorable, enjoyable, and comfortable.

In closing, Tanner expressed, “I adore all of you. Show kindness to one another, recognize the positive intentions in others, and your lives will be filled with happiness. I hold you all dear. Until next time.

Following Tanner’s passing, a new video emerged on his social media account, fulfilling what seemed to be his final request for his followers. In this video, Tanner is seen with AmyLou lying next to him as he requested his fans to offer their support to his daughter and wife during this difficult time.

Tanner mentioned he was hoping to seek your assistance in looking after Jiaozi, he’s planning on setting up a GoFundMe page. This fundraiser aims to compensate for what he would usually provide if he were present.

Part of the funds will go towards securing a deposit for a humble first house for both Shay and AmyLou.

The description goes on to say, “A sanctuary for growth, recovery, and remembrance of Tanner,” further explaining, “an area entirely unique and personal to them.
