Everyone’s talking about Jacob Elordi potentially being the next James Bond, which is wild! I first noticed him in The Kissing Booth on Netflix, and he’s really taken off since then. He’s been landing some amazing roles, and his performance as The Creature in Frankenstein was so good, he even got an Oscar nomination! It’s a strange time for all this Bond talk, but he definitely seems to be a leading contender.
Despite quickly becoming a major star in Hollywood, he’s recently faced some criticism regarding his films. While much of this negativity isn’t directed at his acting, it’s possible these issues could affect his chances of being cast as James Bond.
Jacob Elordi’s James Bond Casting Rumors Have Exploded In The Midst Of The Complicated Reactions To Wuthering Heights
Emerald Fennell has a knack for sparking debate, and her newest film is proving no different. Opinions on her adaptation of Wuthering Heights are all over the map, from enthusiastic praise to harsh criticism. Some viewers are upset by the changes she made to the original story, while others have been shocked by the film’s explicit sexual content.
Amidst all the current debate surrounding the film, actor Jacob Elordi, who plays Heathcliff, is also being talked about as a potential James Bond. While he’s just one member of the cast, the negative attention around the movie could unfortunately damage his image.
Some people are questioning the casting of Jacob Elordi in Wuthering Heights because he’s a white actor playing a character who is described as having darker skin, potentially of Roma heritage. While this has happened in past adaptations, audiences now expect more accurate representation. Taking on roles like this can be problematic for actors.
Generally, any attention is helpful in the entertainment industry, but the idea that all publicity is good publicity is being questioned. Amazon hasn’t revealed much about who they’re considering to play the next James Bond, so it’s still unclear if Jacob Elordi is actually a contender for the role.

Despite the current criticism and negative reactions from fans, whether or not the new Wuthering Heights movie is considered a success will ultimately depend on how much money it makes. Film studios primarily focus on profits, and if this romantic drama performs well at the box office, it could significantly improve Jacob Elordi’s reputation.
At 28, Jacob Elordi is already an Oscar nominee, making him a very attractive candidate for the James Bond franchise. Even with some recent controversy, a successful blockbuster film would significantly improve his odds of landing the role of 007.
It’s definitely possible Jacob Elordi won’t be cast as James Bond. But, any controversy around his role in Wuthering Heights won’t factor into the decision. He’s already shown he’s a strong actor, and he’ll only miss out on the part if another actor is a better fit.
