Earlier this year, the new season of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, titled Steel Ball Run, quickly became a hot topic for anime fans around the globe. After a much-awaited debut, viewers are eagerly awaiting the release of the second episode. Beyond the anime itself, the world of Steel Ball Run is expanding with a new light novel set to be released, and details about its story and characters are starting to emerge.
The new anime series, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Lonesome Tim – Lasso, Bullets, and Hexed Maiden, is a spin-off that takes place alongside the events of Steel Ball Run. The story follows Tim after he leaves the race. While Tim hasn’t been a major focus so far, especially compared to characters like Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppelli, that’s expected to change as the series continues. Though the original creator, Hirohiko Araki, isn’t directly involved, author Kira Tsukinami aims to stay true to the spirit of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. With the first chapter released earlier this year, details about the characters have been revealed, and you can find descriptions below.
This light novel, Lonesome Tim, introduces new characters and their Stands in its first part. The remaining chapters will be published at a later date.

Joestar Spin-Offs Explained

The JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime series has a long history of expanding its universe with spin-offs and side stories, focusing on popular characters like Iggy from Stardust Crusaders, Lisa Lisa from Battle Tendency, and Pannacotta Fugo from Golden Wind. Though many of these extra stories haven’t been turned into animated episodes, one significant spin-off has received both an anime and a live-action adaptation.
Kishibe Rohan is arguably the most beloved supporting character in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Created by Hirohiko Araki and first appearing in Diamond is Unbreakable, the manga artist has become a favorite of the author, who continues to feature him in new stories. Rohan’s popularity has led to his own series, Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan, which has been adapted into both anime and live-action formats, including full-length films. A brand new episode is coming out later this year, and it will feature a completely original story not found in the manga, demonstrating just how popular this character has become.
As a huge fan, I was so relieved to finally hear from Netflix about Steel Ball Run! There’s been a lot of talk online, but they’ve officially confirmed we’re getting more episodes in 2026, which is amazing. Even better, they’re releasing them weekly as the race continues, so we can really follow along with everything happening. They haven’t said exactly how many episodes to expect, but knowing how long the original manga is, it looks like we’re in for a really epic journey!
