Please be aware that this article reveals key plot points from the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga! The Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga, created by Gege Akutami and Yuji Iwasaki, finished its run in March 2026 after being published for six months. It began in September 2025, a year after the original Jujutsu Kaisen story ended, and followed new characters set 68 years in the future. Building on the huge success of the first series, Modulo quickly became popular worldwide, especially because it unexpectedly introduced science fiction elements – specifically, an alien race called the Simurians arriving in Japan as refugees.
The story primarily explores the difficulties of humans and Simurians living together, but it also shows what happens to fan-favorite characters from the original series. It begins with the death of Yuta Okkotsu, who quickly declined after losing his wife, Maki Zenin. We then follow their grandchildren as the series reveals the sad fate of Yuji Itadori, updates us on Nobara Kugisaki, and shares what became of other well-loved characters. One significant omission, however, is Megumi Fushiguro, who despite being a central character, is largely absent until the very end of the story.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo‘s Final Volume Completely Neglects Megumi

The last book in the series came out in Japan on May 1st, 2026, bringing the sequel to a close. Although it hasn’t been released outside of Japan yet, @Go_Jover, a well-known Jujutsu Kaisen fan account on X, shared some sneak peeks. These included new artwork of Yuji, Nobara, and the characters introduced in the Modulo arc. The volume also reveals what happened to Aoi Todo in the decades following the Culling Game.
It’s disappointing that Megumi isn’t mentioned at all in the epilogue or bonus content. As a central character and the reason the story began, he played a vital role. Many fans love Megumi, making this omission particularly frustrating. While the author doesn’t explain what happens to Megumi after the main story ends, Nobara does briefly mention him in the final chapter. After everything is resolved, Yuji and Nobara reunite, and Yuji shares his plans for the future.
The group joins forces with the hope of building a better future, knowing that no new sorcerers will be born. But their planning is interrupted when Nobara announces that Megumi is missing. Her sad tone strongly suggests he’s dead, though the exact circumstances remain unknown. Surprisingly, Yuji, one of Megumi’s closest friends, hasn’t even mentioned his name. Many readers anticipated learning Megumi’s fate in the final book, but he’s been absent throughout the sequel.
