I’ve rarely seen a release date delayed this long, but Wandering Sword is now scheduled to come out on January 21st, 2027.
It was previously planned to release next week, on the 28th May.
It’s one hell of a twist just days from launch, but in a way, you could see it coming. The RPG, which has a similar sprite-based art direction to games like Octopath Traveler, has been floating around for ages, but its marketing campaign never quite clicked into gear.
Clouded Leopard Entertainment, the game’s publisher, says the delay is because they’re making some changes to the release date for the physical copy of the game. However, the extent of the delay still seems a bit much.
Wandering Sword has been successfully released on PC through Steam for the past two years, earning very positive reviews from players. That’s why this recent delay is surprising.
