Kate Hudson & Ex Chris Robinson Reunite at Son Ryder’s NYU Graduation

Kate Hudson and ex Chris Robinson reunited for a cap-tivating occasion.

The former couple reunited in New York City on May 16th to celebrate their son, Ryder, graduating from NYU.

Kate, 47, posted photos from the family celebration on Instagram on May 21st, excitedly announcing her child’s college graduation with the caption, “My college graduate!!!!!!”

A heartwarming photo from the celebration showed actress Dakota Johnson and her ex-husband, Chris Martin, with their son. The former couple, who were married from 2000 to 2007, happily posed with their 22-year-old son, Ryder, who was wearing his NYU graduation gown and cap, in front of Radio City Music Hall.

Chris, who first became a dad to Ryder with Kate in 2004, was also photographed giving the recent college graduate a warm hug.

Kate’s family, including her son Ryder, celebrated his graduation with a lot of love and support. His grandparents, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, were also there, and they all took pictures together at the ceremony held in Yankee Stadium.

Kate Hudson’s younger children joined in the celebration of Ryder’s graduation. Photos showed her daughter, Rani, age 7, helping Kate get ready, and Ryder posing with Rani and his brother, Bingham, 14. Kate shares Bingham with her ex-fiancé, Matt Bellamy, and is currently engaged to Danny Fujikawa.

Ryder’s education at the renowned Tisch School of the Arts at New York University reinforces that he’s continuing the family tradition in the arts.

Kate recently admitted she doesn’t think her children will avoid careers in the entertainment industry. In an April interview with TopMob News, she said she believes it’s unavoidable.

According to Kate, her kids are born ready for show business. 

It feels like my family always ends up performing – either acting out a scene or breaking into dance,” she said with a laugh. “I guess it’s just in our genes!

It’s really striking,” she said. “Everyone in my family seems to be drawn to the entertainment world – or at least, they all have a need to express themselves through performance of some kind.

And Chris—who is the lead singer of The Black Crowes—can already see Ryder following that path.

He’s starting to explore acting more seriously, but he’s also a very talented singer and guitarist who’s passionate about music. I’m incredibly proud of everything he’s doing, he said in an interview with People.
