IO Interactive confirmed that cross-progression will be available for the Hitman trilogy on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 starting February 3rd, 2026. This means players will be able to continue their progress across both consoles.
We’ve updated the IOI Account system to make it easier to carry your Hitman progress across all your devices – consoles and PC. This means all your data will be available on any platform you play on. After the update, you’ll simply choose one platform as your main account, and everything else will automatically connect to it.
The cross progression feature covers the following content:
- Experience
- Player Level
- Challenges
- Location Mastery
- Unlocks and Inventory
- Achievements / Trophies
- Freelancer Mode Progression
- Campaign Story Progress
Just a heads-up for anyone who buys the extra maps for Hitman – they don’t transfer between PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. So, if I own the DLC on both my PS5 and PS4, I won’t have access to it on PC or Xbox after the update. It’s a bit annoying, but good to know beforehand!
To allow players to transfer their progress across different platforms, IO Interactive will be ending the process of carrying over progress from Hitman 2 to Hitman 3. They’ve announced that after February 3rd, 2026, it will no longer be possible to transfer progress between these two games as they implement a new system using IOI Accounts.
I’m really excited to see IO Interactive is still adding to Hitman 3, even while they’re working hard on the new 007 game! They just had Eminem as a playable character, which was awesome, and now they’re bringing in Milla Jovovich next month as another Elusive Target. It’s great they haven’t forgotten about Hitman 3 fans while gearing up for the big 2026 release.
