EJAE is showing fans how it’s done, done, done.
The star of KPop Demon Hunters made a striking impression at her first Met Gala on May 4th in New York City. Her outfit perfectly fit the evening’s “Costume Art” theme and the “Fashion Is Art” dress code.
Let me tell you, for this event, I went all out with a stunning silver gown absolutely covered in sparkling Swarovski crystals! To complete the look, I added a gorgeous floral headpiece bursting with gems. It was a total showstopper! (And if you want to see what everyone else was wearing, you can check it all out here.)
She explained to Vogue that her outfit was designed to showcase Korean culture at the Met Gala, drawing inspiration from the talented female entertainers of the Joseon dynasty. She described these women as highly skilled artists and intellectuals, known for their expertise in music, poetry, and conversation.
Before walking the red carpet, the singer—famous for winning an Oscar with her team for the popular song “Golden”—talked about how her success has changed her outlook on her career.
The artist explained to Marie Claire that, for her, being true to herself creatively means focusing on genuine ideas. She was happy that her song ‘Golden’ brought people together and helped them address hidden emotional pain, and she hopes to continue creating music that resonates deeply with listeners – focusing on the songs themselves, rather than her own fame. That’s what’s most important to her right now.
It’s less about her having her own moment and more about giving her songs a chance to be heard. She describes her project, EJAE, as a way to release tracks she loves that have been sitting unfinished. She wants to share these songs with the world and keep writing new ones.

Okay, seriously, her Netflix movie is EVERYTHING. It’s just…beautiful. She always talks about how it’s about embracing all of who you are, and honestly, it’s so inspiring to see her actually live that message. It’s like she really believes in loving yourself, completely and unapologetically, and it’s just…amazing to watch.
She explained that personal growth comes from expanding your horizons, not restricting yourself. Just like a fish can’t grow in a small tank, people need space to develop. It’s important to avoid rigid, black-and-white thinking, as having the freedom to try different approaches is key to not only your own growth, but also to inspiring others to explore and learn.
