Production on the live-action God of War series is scheduled to begin early next year, but details about who will star in the show haven’t been released yet.
Ronald D. Moore, known for his work on Battlestar Galactica, is leading the new series as showrunner. He’s brought in several writers who previously worked with him on his Apple TV+ show, For All Mankind.
Kratos’s appearance is crucial; because he’s so recognizable, even small mistakes in portraying his look or physique could ruin the show.
Christopher Judge, the voice actor for the character in the newer Norse-themed games, has indicated he won’t be involved in the upcoming Amazon Prime series.
Movie insider John Campea mentioned him as a possible actor for the role in a YouTube video.
When the news was shared by Covered Geekly and spread on social media, Judge responded with confusion, asking, “Am I being considered for the role?” He followed up with a string of shrug emojis.
Campea also suggested Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista could be considered, but it’s uncertain whether his sources are reliable.
If filming actually starts at the beginning of next year, we’ll likely hear official announcements about who’s been cast very soon.
