The game “Little Witch in the Woods,” originally scheduled for a September 4 release, has been postponed to September 15 due to the simultaneous launch of “Hollow Knight: Silksong” on the same date. At present, it is available as Early Access on PC through Steam.
The delay is happening after several other titles, such as Hollow Knight: Silksong, CloverPit, Aeterna Lucis, Demonschool, and Baby Steps, have also been delayed.
Here is the full message from SUNNY SIDE UP on the delay:
Hello, everyone. This is SUNNY SIDE UP.
We appreciate your understanding as we take a bit more time than expected to finalize “Little Witch in the Woods.” We know this wait might have caused some anxiety and tiredness, and for that, we genuinely thank you for your patience during this development process.
Over the last several years, we’ve dedicated a significant amount of time and energy to creating this game. Your belief in us, your patronage during Early Access, and your help in all areas have been crucial in keeping us motivated right up until now.
More recently, we couldn’t contain our excitement any longer and unveiled the expected release date for our full version. However, soon after this announcement, we discovered that the highly anticipated game, “Hollow Knight: Silksong,” which is considered a marvel in the gaming world, will be releasing on the same day. As developers, we admire “Silksong” immensely and as players, we eagerly await it. Given its significant impact, we worry that launching our game, “Little Witch in the Woods,” on the same day could not only demoralize our dedicated team, but also disappoint our devoted fanbase.
After considering all factors carefully, we’ve made a decision: We will release the complete version on September 15, 2025.
We’re truly sorry for the unexpected wait. In appreciation of your patience and backing, we pledge to continue developing the game diligently, aiming to present Little Witch in the Woods in a refined and top-notch manner.
