Madonna Uses 7 Blindfolded Helpers to Hold Up Her Met Gala 2026 Dress

Madonna is striking a pose at the 2026 Met Gala.

The singer behind the hit song “Vogue” certainly turned heads with their outfit at the yearly fundraising gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on May 4th.

Following this year’s “Costume Art” theme and “Fashion Is Art” dress code, Madonna arrived at the Met Gala in a stunning black Saint Laurent gown and a dramatic, boat-shaped headpiece. She was accompanied by seven women as she walked the red carpet. (Check out all the celebrity looks here.)

Attendants wearing delicate blindfolds and plain, subtly colored dresses each held a section of Madonna’s incredibly long train while posing for a coordinated photograph.

To top off her gothic look, Madonna rocked long black hair.

This isn’t the first time Madonna has turned heads at the Met Gala. She previously wowed attendees in 2025, wearing a cream-colored Tom Ford suit that fit the evening’s ‘Tailored for You’ theme.

The pop icon always turns heads with her style, and her latest red carpet appearance was no exception. The 67-year-old accessorized with a cigar, confidently puffing on it as she posed for photographers.

Just a few years earlier, Madonna—a frequent guest at the Met Gala since 1997—turned heads at the 2016 event with a daring Givenchy outfit featuring revealing cutouts.

I was completely blown away by her outfit at the “Manus x Machina” event! It wasn’t just a stunning look, she later explained it was actually a deliberate statement – a way of making a point with her fashion choices. I thought it was brilliant!

Madonna recently spoke out against age and gender double standards, pointing to the criticism she receives for expressing her sexuality and embracing new experiences. In a now-deleted Instagram post, reported by Vanity Fair, she argued that the very idea someone would question a woman’s freedom to do so proves we still live in a society biased against both age and gender. She emphasized that she’s always lived without limits and believes taking risks is essential for progress.

She explained that making history comes from being brave and choosing a different path. She also stated that criticism of her appearance reveals the biases of others, and she’s determined to create opportunities for future generations of women.
