The latest trailer for Avengers: Doomsday has arrived, and it features a return for Black Panther to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After several teasers leaked online, Marvel officially released the trailer, which is set in Wakanda. Surprisingly, the trailer shows the Fantastic Four interacting with characters from the main MCU timeline for the first time, following their recent movie.
As a huge fan, I was so excited by the new Doomsday trailer focusing on Wakanda! It’s packed with more characters than any of the previous teasers. We saw just two characters in the first couple of trailers – Steve Rogers and a young child, then Thor and Valkyrie. The X-Men trailer had three – Magneto, Professor X, and Cyclops, plus a glimpse of a Sentinel. But this Wakanda trailer? It features five major players – Shuri, M’Baku, Namor, and two others – and a whole bunch of extras from both Wakanda and Talokan! Plus, several of the characters have totally new looks since we last saw them. You can check it out at the beginning of the Doomsday clock countdown video – it’s amazing!
What We Learned From The Avengers: Doomsday Wakanda Trailer

As a fan, I was really intrigued by the new teaser! It confirmed Ben Grimm will be meeting the Wakandan crew, but there’s so much more going on. We see Shuri is still deeply hurting after everything she’s lost, and honestly, it’s a bit sad – you can tell her nephew, T’Challa, feels left out. It makes me wonder if those rumors about an older version of T’Challa showing up in Doomsday or Secret Wars are true, because it would be a really interesting way to explore grief in the MCU. It feels like they’re building to something big with all this emotional weight.
Following the events of Wakanda Forever, M’Baku is now the ruler of Wakanda. Both he and Shuri have updated looks that seem to honor the cultures of both Wakanda and Talokan, suggesting the peace between the two nations has lasted. Namor is sporting a new costume more closely based on his comic book appearance, including his signature high collar, and his loyal advisor, Namora, is also present, confirming her role in the upcoming Doomsday story.
Many fans suspect Namor might team up with Doctor Doom, though this is just a guess for now, as he didn’t seem pleased in the trailer. Interestingly, Ben Grimm’s costume remains the same as it was in ‘First Steps,’ which is unusual for Marvel’s tendency to update costumes frequently – a welcome decision! Still, we haven’t gotten a glimpse of Doctor Doom yet.
The new movie, Avengers: Doomsday, comes out on December 16, 2026. Have you seen the trailer? Share your thoughts in the comments and join the discussion on the ComicBook Forum!
