Now that Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is ending in March, an announcement about the next big anime based on a Shonen Jump manga could be coming soon. With popular series like My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen finishing up, fans are excited to see what comes next. While some new manga have launched, only a few have really gained traction. Currently, Sakamoto Days is a reliable hit alongside One Piece in Weekly Shonen Jump, but the magazine is clearly building up Kagurabachi and Ichi the Witch as potential successors to these major titles.
Since launching in 2023, Kagurabachi has quickly become popular worldwide, with many fans comparing it to Jujutsu Kaisen. Because of this, fans have been eagerly waiting for news about a potential anime adaptation. While some expected an announcement at Jump Festa 2026 in December 2025, nothing was revealed. Now, it looks like the wait might be almost over, as the Kagurabachi anime could be announced shortly after Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 finishes at the end of March.

CyberAgent, the studio believed to be creating the anime version of Kagurabachi, has announced it will be at AnimeJapan 2026 on March 28th and 29th. This event is happening shortly after the first part of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 finishes, and given that CyberAgent has been working on this for a while, many fans expect them to finally reveal the Kagurabachi anime adaptation there. Talk about an anime adaptation started gaining traction last August when reports surfaced that the studio had four different anime projects in the works.
With AnimeJapan 2026 fast approaching, many believe Kagurabachi could be CyberAgent’s biggest attraction. The series has been gaining popularity since its launch in September 2023, and publisher Shueisha clearly recognizes its potential. Now with over 100 chapters available, there’s enough content for a full anime season – possibly even a 24-episode one. Considering the first part of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is wrapping up, announcing a Kagurabachi anime adaptation soon would be perfectly timed, and could make 2026 an especially exciting year for fans of Shonen Jump series.
