Arc System Works has added a new team to their fighting game, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls – the Amazing Guardians! This team is headed up by Spider-Man and also includes Star-Lord, Ms. Marvel, and a newcomer: Peni Parker, who fights with a cool spider-shaped robot. You can see Peni Parker’s moves in the game’s latest trailer.
A powerful Elder named Xirena Awhina, known as the Promoter, is orchestrating a tournament between Earth’s heroes and villains to decide the planet’s future. It’s unclear if she’s the main villain or just a player in a larger cosmic game, but she definitely possesses incredible power.
Peni adds a lot of interesting tech and tools to the battles with her SP//dr suit, and she works well with the rest of the Guardians. Fans of Guardians of the Galaxy will also be excited to see Knowhere now available as a playable stage.
Arc System Works included a fun new feature: automatic team name generation. The game creates a team name for your unit based on Marvel lore, and it’s even announced before each battle!
The fighting game Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls will be released on August 6th for PlayStation 5 and PC. It’s been significantly improved since the closed beta, including fixes to prevent unwanted attacks. Players at EVO Japan 2026, taking place May 1st-3rd in Tokyo, will have a chance to play the game with characters like Peni Parker, Wolverine, Magik, and Danger.
