Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Is Adding a Free New Suit to Tie-In With Brand New Day

Insomniac Games is releasing a free new suit for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to celebrate the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie. The team has mostly finished working on Spider-Man 2 and is now concentrating on Marvel’s Wolverine, which will be available on PlayStation 5 in September. However, to coincide with the new Spider-Man movie releasing next month, Insomniac will release an update for Spider-Man 2.

Insomniac Games recently shared details about a new suit coming to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, called the “Fresh Start” suit. The design is inspired by Peter Parker’s costume from the Spider-Man: Brand New Day comic series, featuring classic red and blue colors and more noticeable web shooters. Players on both PlayStation 5 and PC will be able to download this free outfit starting July 28th.

The most interesting part of Insomniac Games’ recent announcement is whether they plan to improve Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 with this update. It’s been over a year since the game received any updates, and while new downloadable content is unlikely, Insomniac might still make some minor adjustments to the game alongside the release of the new suit.

Any improvements to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 with this update will likely be minor. Insomniac Games has mostly moved on to their new project, Marvel’s Wolverine, after finishing Spider-Man 2. However, given how well Spider-Man 2 performed, it’s almost certain the studio will revisit the Spider-Man series in the future, probably with Marvel’s Spider-Man 3.

Insomniac and PlayStation haven’t officially announced Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 yet, but many expect it to be revealed within the next few months or year. In the meantime, players can enjoy or replay Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 with a brand new suit.
