Insomniac Games, the studio behind Marvel’s Wolverine, may have begun developing a new Marvel’s Spider-Man game. Ben Jordan, the actor who portrays Peter Parker through motion capture, recently shared – and then quickly deleted – a photo of himself in motion capture gear. The post’s only caption was the phrase “IYKYK,” which is internet slang for “if you know, you know,” suggesting a new project is underway.
Although the original post has been removed, people were able to take screenshots, which you can see below. It’s unclear if this signals a full new game, possibly titled Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, or a smaller, standalone title like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Currently, neither Sony nor Insomniac Games has confirmed anything about a new Marvel’s Spider-Man game.
Jordan took over the role of Peter Parker’s face in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, replacing the original model, John Bubniak. Insomniac Games’ creative director, Bryan Intihar, explained the switch was made to find someone who looked more like the actor who provided the character’s performance, Yuri Lowenthal.
Currently, Marvel’s Wolverine is in development for PlayStation 5 and is scheduled to launch on September 15th. The release date was announced on social media in February, and fans were directed to the PlayStation Store to add the game to their wishlists.
Even though you can add the game to your wishlist, pre-orders for Marvel’s Wolverine haven’t opened yet. Insomniac Games explained they want to share more gameplay footage first, suggesting we’ll see a dedicated State of Play presentation focusing on the game before it comes out.
The upcoming game, Marvel’s Wolverine, will tell a fresh story about James “Logan” Howlett. The game centers on Logan trying to recover his lost memories, but he’ll face opposition from various groups and characters who want to stop him. Players will battle enemies like the Reavers and Sentinels, as well as well-known comic book villains like Omega Red. As you might expect in an X-Men story, Mystique will also play a role, pursuing her own goals.
Liam J. McIntyre, the actor who voices Logan, shared on social media back in February that he’d been working on the game for nearly as long as his son has been alive. He expressed his excitement, saying he’d been looking forward to the game’s release for a long time and that it was almost here!
The actor has complimented Insomniac Games before. Back in November 2025, he posted, “It means the world to us, and especially to the developers who are working incredibly hard to create the game you’ve always wanted.” He finished by saying, “You’re amazing. We’re excited to share more next year.”
A report from January suggested Sony is positioning the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 – launching November 19th – as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. To make room for the game’s massive release, Sony has also strategically scheduled the release dates of other titles, like Marvel’s Wolverine, to avoid competing with its launch.
