A recent Marvel announcement has gotten fans incredibly excited about the possibilities for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. The marketing for Doomsday has been plagued by leaks – some real, like with the initial trailers, and many that are fake. Nowadays, getting attention online is more important than accuracy, and people claiming to have inside information are using clickbait and misinformation to generate revenue, mixing it with genuine spoilers. It’s hard to know what’s true, but this new information about Doomsday comes from a source that has generally been reliable in the past.
A LEGO enthusiast named Max Baut shared information on Instagram about upcoming sets, which was then reposted on Reddit by BrickTap. One set in particular – a battle between Thor and Doctor Doom featuring mechs – has sparked a lot of excitement. This set is planned for release in January 2027 as part of a larger wave of LEGO Marvel products that will also include new minifigures like Jeff the Landshark, Symbiote Spider-Man, and Scarlet Spider. Because of previous rumors about Doombots appearing in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie, fans believe this set could be one of the first LEGO sets related to that film. Importantly, the set will also include a minifigure described as “Female Doom,” seemingly confirming another long-standing rumor about the movie.
Avengers: Doomsday Could Include Multiple Versions of Doom

With little official news about Avengers: Doomsday, especially regarding Robert Downey Jr.’s potential role, rumors have been swirling. Early speculation suggested Downey Jr. might play a version of Doctor Doom who is actually a variant of Tony Stark, but that seems improbable. Some alleged concept art even hinted at Doom joining forces with several major MCU heroes to prevent the collapse of the multiverse. It remains to be seen if any of this is accurate, but a consistent rumor has been that the movie will feature multiple versions of Doctor Doom.
Just to clarify, while rumors suggest a Thor vs. Doctor Doom Mech set, it hasn’t been officially connected to the Avengers: Doomsday movie. However, many social media posts and fans are treating it as confirmed. The timing of the rumored release is certainly interesting, if true. LEGO often releases sets celebrating classic comic book stories alongside major film launches – other toy companies do this too. Unfortunately, online discussions lack detail, leading some to believe a female Doctor Doom will appear in Doomsday. While that’s not entirely impossible…
Considering Doomsday’s events will span at least three universes, it’s believable that Doom would gather versions of himself from other doomed realities – he’s certainly arrogant enough to do so. This idea of multiple Dooms also aligns with what we knew about The Kang Dynasty, which involved numerous Kang variants. Reliable source Daniel RPK has previously reported seeing multiple Dooms, even a female version, which matches details from a LEGO set leak.
Marvel Comics features many different versions of Doctor Doom, from the bizarre – like Dinosaur Doctor Doom – to the futuristic Doom 2099. While there aren’t many prominent female counterparts to Doom, aside from minor alternate universe versions and Valeria von Doom briefly adopting a similar costume as Marvel Girl, a female Doom would be a new development. Whether the recent LEGO set is connected to the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie, or just a coincidence given the close release dates, remains to be seen. It’s also uncertain if this Female Doom will actually appear in the film.
