Meghan Trainor is all about that honesty.
Shortly after canceling her planned Get in Girl tour, Meghan Trainor discussed how her previous tour experiences shaped her new album, Toy With Me.
Meghan shared on the April 23rd episode of the Sorry We’re Cyrus podcast that life has its ups and downs. She also revealed that while she was on tour and writing, she experienced a difficult personal struggle she isn’t ready to discuss.
The 32-year-old didn’t share exactly what happened, but she said she was having a difficult time back then.
She stressed that you can’t always tell what difficulties people are facing privately. This idea was central to her new album, but she’s hesitant to talk about the specific situation that inspired it. She doesn’t want to reveal something that could negatively impact a family member’s life.
Meghan, who shares five-year-old Riley, two-year-old Barry, and three-month-old Mikey with her husband, Daryl Sabara, explained the stories and ideas behind a lot of the songs.
She shared that many of her songs were inspired by a difficult breakup her close friend went through. She wrote them as a way to support her friend during that time.

The singer behind the song “Made You Look” explained that two of her tracks, “Get In Girl” and “Shimmer,” were created to be empowering songs about loving yourself and feeling confident.
She explained that the music was both a gift to the intended recipient and a way to improve her own self-confidence. She admitted to struggling with negative self-talk daily, feeling like she had to start fresh each day, and hoped the music would help lift her spirits as well.
Meghan recently shared her thoughts openly, just a week after announcing she was cancelling her upcoming ‘Get in Girl’ tour, scheduled to begin June 12th in Michigan. The singer, who had a baby named Mikey via surrogate in January, explained she made the difficult decision after careful consideration and challenging discussions.
She announced on Instagram on April 16th that she needs to prioritize family and is postponing her album release and tour. She explained that balancing a new baby with a family of five, along with the demands of a new album and tour, is currently too much to handle, and she wants to be fully present at home.
“I needed this album,” she added, “so I hope it helps people out there who need it.”
Although Meghan was upset about disappointing her fans, she’s always made it clear that her own health and wellbeing come first.
She recently told Us Weekly that prioritizing mental health is key. She shared that she takes antidepressants, attends weekly therapy, and even tried couples therapy when it was helpful. She also recently received an ADHD diagnosis and is undergoing thorough health testing – including blood and stool samples – to ensure she’s feeling her best.
She explained that she doesn’t hesitate to ask for assistance. She’s always looking for ways to grow and improve, recognizing that no one can be good at everything. While she wishes she could handle it all herself, she knows it’s just not possible.

Meghan Trainor is known for her signature bangs, which she first showed off in a TikTok video from August 2025. Although she intended to demonstrate her core strength by balancing on dumbbells during the social media ‘stiletto challenge,’ most viewers were more focused on her hairstyle.
As one fan commented of her sleek high pony and new fringe, “OMG I didn’t recognize you.”

The singer was thrilled with her post-baby body, but she and her husband, Daryl Sabara, decided to focus on improving their health after their son, Riley, was born in February 2021.
They completed the challenging 75-day self-improvement program, and felt great about it. She shared on their April 2025 podcast, Workin’ On It, that they were determined to do everything perfectly and ultimately succeeded.
After Barry, the youngest son, joined the conversation in July 2023, Trainor explained that they started hearing from more and more friends – and even their doctors – about using Mounjaro and Ozempic.
After researching their options, the couple decided to try Mounjaro, believing it was less likely to cause unpleasant side effects.
They began their health journey together by combining a very low dose of something with healthy eating and regular exercise. She explained, “We were determined to maintain the muscle we’d spent years building.” They continued to prioritize the gym, proper nutrition, and noticed a welcome side effect: reduced hunger.
She’s feeling confident and great in her Versace dress. “I feel amazing,” she shared, adding, “This dress is incredible, and I’m proud to wear it and talk about it.”

Trainor was surprised by the overwhelmingly positive response she received after sharing her decision to get a breast augmentation following the birth of her two children. “I’m very open about things, so I just said I was getting the procedure done, and the comments were really supportive,” she explained to TopMob News in March 2025, shortly after the results were visible. “Especially moms – they were all very encouraging.”
She was honest about wanting a breast augmentation. She explained that after having two babies and breastfeeding, she lost a lot of weight, and her breasts had changed significantly. She said she felt they had lost their shape and that getting a breast augmentation was something she really wanted and dreamed of.

Trainor definitely doesn’t regret getting plastic surgery – not at all.
In March 2025, she told TopMob that she was thrilled with her breast augmentation, saying, ‘I love my new breasts and feel amazing naked.’
Before, she was always looking at her chest sideways.
She shared on Instagram that she never felt comfortable with her breasts until she had surgery. She explained that her implants are special – they’re made with a smooth, silky material designed to reduce swelling and keep the surrounding tissue soft. She says they look and feel fantastic.

Meghan Trainor admitted on her podcast in December 2024 that she’d had too much Botox and needed assistance. While she’d previously received Botox injections in her forehead, this time she also had lip filler.
The singer said someone told her that getting a small amount of filler just above the upper lip – a procedure called a ‘lip flip’ – would give her a beautiful, upturned lip. She tried it, hoping to achieve this for the first time in her life, but it didn’t work.
Instead, she detailed, “I cannot smile. My face hurts to smile, to even try.”
