4A Games revealed that Metro 2039 has received 1 million wishlists since its online store pages launched on all platforms. The studio shared the news on social media, expressing gratitude to fans for their support of the upcoming game.
4A Games expressed their excitement at reaching this milestone so soon after announcing their new game. They thanked fans for their amazing support and said they’re eager to share the game this winter. The announcement included a short video thanking fans and celebrating the achievement.
Last month, 4A Games officially announced Metro 2039 as the next major installment in the Metro series, not a side story. During a recent showcase at Microsoft’s event, they also confirmed the game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S this winter.
In Metro 2039, players will revisit the world of the Moscow Metro, but years after the previous games. The underground communities now appear to be unified under a leader called Führer Hunter. You’ll play as a character known as The Stranger, who is haunted by disturbing nightmares featuring chains, as seen in the game’s trailer.
The presentation ended with a brief glimpse of gameplay from the first-person shooter, Metro 2039. Although the footage was short, it showed the return of familiar elements from the Metro series, such as the watch used to monitor and change breathing filters.
