This year, both a blockbuster film and a highly anticipated Netflix series achieved huge success. Now, actors from these two popular projects are joining forces for a brand new show.
Millie Bobby Brown, known for her role in *Stranger Things*, will star in and help produce a new Netflix series called *Prism*. Etan Frankel, who has worked on shows like *Shameless* and *Joe vs. Carole*, will be the showrunner. The story centers around Cassie, a woman who can communicate with ghosts, as she investigates a mysterious event causing ghostly appearances worldwide. Netflix has not yet commented on the project.
More information about the plot and Rachel Brosnahan‘s role hasn’t been released yet. The series, called Prism, is inspired by a short story written by Nick Shafir, who is also a co-producer. The story originally appeared in Assemble Artifacts magazine as part of Assemble Media’s ‘Assemble Original’ series, and Assemble Media is producing the show.
Deadline reports that if the show *Prism* is picked up for a full season, it won’t interfere with Brown’s other projects. She already has a film scheduled to come out in 2026 and is currently shooting and producing a new romantic comedy called *Just Picture It*, though a release date for that film hasn’t been announced yet.
Emily Brosnahan recently played Lois Lane in James Gunn’s *Superman* movie, but it’s not yet confirmed if she’ll be involved in future projects. She just finished filming *Lear Rex*, a dramatic take on Shakespeare’s *King Lear*, and will also appear in season two of *Presumed Innocent*, the Emmy-nominated legal thriller on Apple TV+.
Millie Bobby Brown Has a Longstanding Relationship with Netflix
Whether *Prism* will be greenlit for a full series on Netflix is still uncertain, but the fact that Brown is attached to star and executive produce is encouraging. She’s become a popular figure on the platform since her breakout role in 2016, and has also starred in and produced successful Netflix films like *Enola Holmes* (2020), *Enola Holmes 2* (2022), and *Damsel* (2024).
As a huge fan of Millie Bobby Brown, I’m really excited about her new movie, *Prism*, and it feels like it could be the start of something big for her and her partnership with Netflix. Especially since *Stranger Things* is finally wrapping up later this year! The Duffer Brothers are releasing the final season in three parts – the first four episodes on November 26th, then another three on December 25th, and finally a special, extra-long finale episode on December 31st. It’s going to be a bittersweet holiday season saying goodbye to Hawkins!
Prism does not have a release date at this time.
