A recent video offering a glimpse behind the scenes of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 has officially confirmed that Kurt Russell will reprise his role as Lee Shaw. Kurt Russell confirms Shaw’s return in Monarch Season 2 video
The actor nominated for a Golden Globe has confirmed he’ll be back as Lee Shaw for the next season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.
I just watched a new behind-the-scenes clip from Apple TV, and it’s got me even more hyped! Kurt Russell is on set, looking great and playfully addressing all the fan theories about what happens to his character. He actually says, “You ain’t getting rid of me that easy,” which is brilliant. The video ends with this huge roar – seriously, it’s a total cliffhanger and leaves you wondering what’s coming next. The title, “The mission isn’t over. Everything changes tomorrow,” really adds to the mystery!
After the first season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters ended with Lee Shaw’s fate unclear, many viewers wondered if actor Wyatt Russell would be back. The finale showed an older Shaw sacrificing himself to repair a broken portal, but he fell into the Hollow Earth, leaving his future uncertain.
Filming for Season 2 finished earlier in the year, and Apple TV announced it in March. Like Season 1, the new season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will have ten episodes.
Joining Wyatt Russell, the original cast – including Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett, and Anders Holm – will all be back. Currently, details about what the new season will be about haven’t been released.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, created by Chris Black and Matt Fraction, tells the story of two siblings investigating their family’s ties to Monarch – a hidden group dedicated to studying massive creatures on Earth. The show has been well-received and adds to the existing MonsterVerse story.
Now that Kurt Russell is confirmed to return, excitement for Season 2 is growing, and fans are eagerly awaiting more news from Apple TV.
